Time

Time

A precious gift
Your choice is how you spend it
Loving others, or yourself
A difficult thing to achieve both
when it is limited

Investing in a future self that may never arrive
I do not even feel alive
I am breathing, speaking, running out of words
running out of breath
What is left

I am sinking
My legs are tired
I have struggled for a while
struggled with a smil...

Let the Music Play

we were an unsinkable ship,
built to sustain any injury
thrown our way, or so we said.

cast into the dark,
yet illuminated with infinite possibilities.

suddenly slipping through our fingers
the bitter cold quickly rushed in,
and the music played on.

while the chaos surrounded us
and the children were tucked safely in their bed,
the music played on.

while prayers were whispered,

Rising Waters

soft rolling waves
brushing the shoreline
come hurling. warmth

that used to make
your blood boil makes you
recoil deeper

from all that you
have felt and long to
feel. digging deep

into the sand
to push it away,
you recoil

into yourself.
this was not part of
the plan; moving

to the city
to be part of the
scene, only to

find you’re constantly
sinking.

Real Life Nightmare

Every moment to fear,

Forever holding back internal tears.

Life- so complicated,

forever indecisive.

The world too big, too scary,

my mind so full of queries.

Never certain, never happy,

each decision could be deadly.

An escapes impossible,

every outcomes implausible.

Sinking under water,

Always being taken for a martyr.

The pain runs so deep,

Barely able to ...

sinking ship

My ship is sinking,

while your ship has sailed...

Our attempt at love,

seems it has failed...

Maybe if we tried harder,

could have prevailed...

I'm crumbling into pieces

crashing against these waves

that are helping to rip my walls right apart

my ship sinking, a metaphor for my broken heart

Where did the love go?

how did you and I go from bein...

Lost

Sometimes it's hard to see the light whenever you're surrounded by darkness

Have you ever felt the type of pain from looking in the mirror and not being able to recognize yourself?

Looking into your own eyes and at your own face and you say "Who is this?"

I've lost myself, yes, I'm afraid I do need some help...

But help from where? I've already been here, and I've been there...

Now,...

Sinking Ships

One day this boat will be too heavy to float,

And the captain will say his goodbyes.

A song so sad will be sung on that night,

As the crew greets their friendly demise.

I've run out of ways to diminish the waves you violently push towards my shore.

On my hands and knees. I beg, I say "please".

But the water is climbing up more.

So for all of the people a...
