Thank you for your comment on my "Post Past". I must take some time to look at your recent work. I looked at my settings, never having done so before, and saw that, by accident, you were on some kind of excluded list! So sorry - it means I haven't been able to see your recent poems on the blog. I shall rectify that tonight.

I appreciated your comment about the pain in 'Tide Turn' Ann. Some of my poems are a bit raw, I think.

Ann - hehe - have to say, 'period art' is not really up my street. It's like drawing with snot or bogies or sommat. Bleurgh! Thought it had to go up though - just seemed appropriate, as the first line mentions art :D

Thank you so much Anne for your comments particular with regard to the subject matter.

To the many of us who are or who have been pet owners the death of an old family pet is more heartbreaking than we could ever have imagined the loss irreplaceable.

In remembrance special moments are poignant such as a family gathering in the garden late at night the air giddy with sausage and burger and where the moon and stars were just a jump away.

Hi Ann and thanks for not dismissing my poem 'Life'.
You are spot on with the intention behind it. I love descriptive poetry too :-)
I can fully understand as you do how some people can read other things between the lines and even look for it. I do that myself often but sometimes it's nice just to appreciate the scenery isn't it. x

Hi Ann,
Thanks for your kind comments about 'It started in the jungle', hallucinations whilst detoxing were hard to capture in a way that made any sense at all, so you were right to not be able to I guess! Many congratulations on your second place in the 'Freedom' competition, well deserved for the poem in question. Mx

...hello Ann...thanks..'Bleasby Street' is one of a series of poems that came out of researching the 'family tree'a few years ago..it's about my gr.gr.grans eldest son who died of double pneumonia in Oldham leaving a wife ,Margaret, the street has gone of course and after a hundred years we're all just a 7.50 death certificate at the register office..or maybe a poem...chris.

Thank you for your comments on 'Under the Wire' only a year since it was posted :). I still think of it as my apotheosis....although I was less than 2 weeks post op and, because of infirmity I had nothing else to do but write poetry. I still enjoy it myself (can we say that about our own poems?) Kind thanks for your forebearance.

I can't believe I'm the only one who skanked Borders judging by the crowd in Starbuck's and the lack of queues at the tills. Although I reckon that I personally owe them a couple of hundred quid in lost sales.

It is a kind of battle against the elements of nature, human as well as 'natural' disasters? not sure it is meant to be quite that strong so gentle is probably correct.

Thank you for commenting on what used to be my poem,Be! She's turned 21 now, is all grown up and wants her independence - coh! Poems, honestly. No gratitude!

Never heard of the book you mentioned though I liked the title!
I got the idea for BE from a PG Woodhouse book where the hero goes to a bohemian place where a poet reads a poem called 'Be' but as he never shares the poem I re-imagined it. And now she's left me and never called me 'Mother'

Hi Ann, thanks for your comment on my effort at a freedom themed poem..
and it's lovely to be back here :-)

Your comment has helped me to realize that sometimes it doesn't matter what the readers think a poem is about but if it matters to the writer how it is interpreted, further work may be needed.x
