Flavia, thank you for tour kind words. I am going to read the two poems you mentioned. I trust that all I have endured will be used for good to reach those who have known suffering and turmoil. If my words can help bring hope and healing to others then it was worth it. I'm glad that you enjoyed reading my work. ☺️

The "Star Spangled Banner"

Hi Greg
I didn't want to air the Brexit debate on the poetry blog, but I do agree that Brexit has lost the UK some friends in Europe. The recent treatment of some EU nationals at the UK border (detention centres etc) has been shameful and things like this, almost imperceptibly, have an impact.

Thankyou for your kind thoughts on my Profile page poem, "Ikea", Rasa. You'll no doubt realise it is straight copy of Dusty Springfield's. I don't think the Profile page has audio but if you would really like to hear how appalling my voice is:-

Dear Rasa
Thanks for your kind comments about my poems. Yes, I suppose "Memory Tax" is a little dark. It's a subject which interests me. In spite of the digitalisation of archives and data bases, I sometimes feel that there is a collective or institutional memory (perhaps just in the form of story-telling) which needs to be nurtured and which is in danger of being lost.
It was a pleasure to discover your fascinating profile. You seem to pack a lot into your life! I always look forward to seeing a new poem of yours on the blog. I don't necessarily check in every day but I will keep an eye out.
All the best

your memory forever grieved!

Beautiful poems Stephen. I particularly enjoy 'Memory Tax' —it is honest and witty but also a little dark— a bit 'Dark Mirror' esque. Well done on all your publications. ?

In response to your comment, this quote has been one that really resonated with me:
“We are not minorities, we have been minoritized. We are not underrepresented, we have been historically excluded. “ - Janel Cubbage
I would never consider you a minority! I believe that many have been marginalised due to prejudices but that word doesn’t sit right with me at all, it makes me think something is less than... keep fighting against the inequalities and spreading awareness through your poetry ☺️

Thank you for commenting on my poem Another Condition. It is only when one belongs to a minority that one really and truly experiences the full brunt of prejudice. I am Gay but stand along side others who are oppressed and discriminated against because of colour, religion, ethnicity of nationality. Free Palestine!
Thank you again
Keith

I see no end to unbreakable cyclic routes that's been tread upon. A 360 degree run from the spot we begun. A loop without any loophole. Only an entrance without exit to a better land. Feel heaven in hell else it will be an intolerable stay. No way out. Stuck at dead ends.
Thanks for reading the poem.

The noted author, d.knape
has had works published in his basement
on a copy machine and stapled together for worldwide
distribution using postage stamps he personally applies.
He is also a director of the National Curmudgeon Society,
