Hi MC and thank you for your recent comment on one of my poems. Truth is I can't pin-point the particular piece you mean as my poetry has been rolling off the production line just lately. If you could guide me to the spot a little more, I would happily look at it again and respond accordingly. Thanks. P.

Hi Ray - the Venner name in my family appears to have a history in
the Essex(Havering) area so, who knows? there may be a distant
connection. The name itself has variations - like Fenner and Vanner,
that go back centuries when spelling was hardly a precise exercise.

I could if I wanted to
write a poem about that photo
the beached boat
the blue water cove
and that lone figure leaning
on the boat as if he stopped to
watch the time go by
or wait for the sunset
i could write a poem about it
but i'll leave that up to you
paint a poem!

Hello Abdul! Thought your comment about Tuscany being my reward for working in Scotland, was really amusing! I do know what you mean! Actually I came out here at 21, having been foolish enough to marry an Italian at that age. I really love living in Italy, in spite of a few negative aspects, and which country doesn't have any? The climate is of course infinitely better with short winters, but lately the summers have been unpleasantly hot. I find India really interesting as a country, and wonder where you or your forbears come/came from?

Abdul,
You are 83 and I am close behind at 72. Our poetry, by virtue of our age and experience, will bring a great deal to this site. Evidently your poetic skills have been laid dormant or hidden for quite some time. Now is the time unleash your talent. I look forward to reading more of your work.

Hi David, my shoes have finally dried out and now I'm setting sail for other climes...
I've said it on your poems but I'll say it here too; one of my favourite joys of visiting WoL is getting the chance to see the world through your eyes. The way you capture things big and small in your poems is always such a pleasure to read.
Thank you!

Abdul,
I am impressed by your biography in saying that you don't follow any rules. Nor do I. This is also the way I write because it is free of convention and inhibitions. My best work has come from notes written on the back of a restaurant menu. Good luck with your writing.
Kind Regards
