Flowers in You
In your eyes, I see the sun, serene and rare,
Where light, in its colors, becomes a garden bright,
And in your gestures, clear enchantments flare,
Like a thousand flowers dancing in the light.
Ah, you are the flower the heavens gave to earth,
Growing in pure grace, in shape and hue,
Like the lily deep in fields of endless worth,
Spreading the fragrance of an eternal view.
In your smile...

BLOODOATH
We made a blood oath...
and yet the promise of it dissipated with the conversation I often expected.
As much as I’d love to over-describe, as some might expect me to, the weight of how I feel while concocting the narratives of Univerza, my writings mislead me.
I might say the campfire stories I told, which wrote themselves, are but a light in a pitch forest as I meander away ...

Respect Women, He Said
Respect Women, he said
I remember my skin was tight coming in from the low of a Maine night
When she
When she
When she
When she
Discovered my claims of
I could walk better, I ain’t in pain
But she knew something other than how my words were arranged
it were the muscles in and around my mouth, sculpting my face
Or it was the bags under my eyes
She related to when ...

Canyon Raven
We come as passing visitors on the rimrock of this vast abyss,
awed by ancient desert rocks with ever-changing hues.
We marvel at these stones laid down in tepid seas
before the dawn bird flew,
grandeur timeless, yet so transient.
A raven races up from the canyon with joyful croak,
like a goblin fresh on vacation from his work in Hell.
He arcs above, then plunges deep into the chasm
with...

Funerals for old men
In a cold cream brick chapel,
That should've never been built,
Was buried a man who was ill understood.
Redeemed in the minutes just before he had died
Look away now, this is not where he lies.
The truth can be found deep in the woods,
Beyond the dampest and darkest of familial 'shoulds'
It's sound slithers, and wrenches and wriggles so fine,
To open the door to this s...

Twisted Love
Love once bloomed
like a fragrant flower
in eternal spring.
Through years of
torrential summer tears,
then droughts,
the scent faded.
All that seemingly remains
are scorched petals that drop
like dead leaves in fall.
But, far beneath
the frozen surface,
intertwined roots run deep...
Making our twisted love
hardy, to weather the
toughest seasons.

Fantasy
Tangled and bruised by the brutal truths..
Hiding in the warmly lit alleys of hope
Escape, seems a blissful route..
Comfort of illusions help to live and cope..
Reality strikes with consistently lethal blows..
Shattered, fractured, stifled moments..
Often leaving heart and soul somewhat hollow..
Mind awakens to unreal incitements..
Storm of the night left the branches barren..

Sunder
As libations enter my heart,
I feel nothing but cold dark space.
When I think of where we are now,
All I see is a tenantless void.
The only thing I crave is a thought;
Just a simple acknowledgement.
All I want is the hope that you’ll give yourself to me.
So prey upon my flesh
And consume it for your pleasure.
All I want is to wander
In this wonderland of hate.
I ne...

Eternal
Eternal
She was the epicentre of his universe
as he was of hers
they were born to be one
their hearts beat in unison
they lived only for each other
Due to their condition
marriage was deemed inappropriate
they loved each other unconditionally
but never on a physical level
they knew not of such things
They were eventually united in death
only days apart
