Beauty

I see it time and time again

that beauty’s made by what is spent.

A beauty that demands a price

with outer glow and inner ice.

And observation seems to tell

it’s only as deep as the well,

for come the day the well runs dry…

such beauty simply waves goodbye.

Crucifixion

They say that the truth is a hard thing to take,

but maybe it’s time that we see

that we as a people are nothing but fake,

ensuring that’s how it will be.

We stand up demanding there’s tolerance,

doing so with our fists in the air.

It’s truly the oddest dance ever been danced,

hypocrisy beyond compare.

We claim we want peace but we seek the next fight

as we...

Into Piles

What in the world are we doing?

Who are we trying to beat?

It seems like we live our lives running,

as if we are losing our seats.

We never stop building up towers.

We never stop spinning around.

We never stop piling up into piles

everything that we’ve torn down.

Is it that we are pursuing

happiness, like the old phrase?

Or are we chasing the concept of such

Make-Up Wake-Up

This poem really is a slam. Please consider watching this live performance on my youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7whtE5vY2cg

I feel the gaze of the man I love as I cover myself in chemicals.

His head behind mine in the mirror, still sitting in the still-warm bed

He’s going to be late if he doesn’t get a move on.

He watches as I paint my face

Foundation, co...

Oblivia

Oblivia

You look at me through your new found fashionista,

Tell me that I am boring,

I understand,

Why would you speak of the

Dull state of today?

Stars, planets, climates, people, love,

You perspire to the empty beat of a London club,

Held together with Hennes zip,

Peer through designer lenses,

Moulded to diamond encrusted frames,

Colourful ri...

Magnanimous (fawning epitaph)

He could only be magnanimous

if the consensus was unanimous

even then he preferred anonymous

he was better than the lot of us

Splendid Is The Flower

Splendid Is The Flower

if I make something beautiful

will you gently touch it

with your perspective

or will you taint it

with a vengeful critics tongue

am I qualified

to judge you

either way

if I make something beautiful

will you take the time

to kiss it with your praise

or will you rip it to shreds

with your own experience

are you qual...

The Jagged Edge of Love

This must be my longest night
the moon laying its heavy light right down
this room swims in so much gossiping
conversations; always imagined and impossible

This must be my longest night
the blurred echoes of all we did ring ‘round
there’s no sleep to be had, just counting stars
and scenes replaying; rose or shit tinted now

I found the jagged edge of love
it cut right across my heaving...

The Latest Craze

The Latest Craze

Oh fucking hell!, the latest craze.
The Scouse brow look.  Oh happy days!

Big gargantuan caterpillars on orange birds.
Big fluffy things, like hairy turds.

There’s lads who go out at night, chasing beaver.
There getting secret lessons off…. Sigourney Weaver.

Because its like chasing aliens in our town.
They’ve got bo...
