Emotions to Distant Shore

A single letter is as naked and vulnerable as the virgin white page

The thrust of sentiment comes from the streams that forge the channel

Could it be the start of lover’s dreams to slip letters between sheets?

Letters link warming thoughts to sentiment received and understood

Messages replenish veins of emotion once thought dry, adding power

Racing imagery floods deltas o...

Foot Prints

Snow dances, like graceful ballerinas on the early morning breeze

Slender young branches serenade each flake as it kisses the forest floor

Powdery residue accumulated in cotton wool mounds against tree trunks

Pail sunshine broke over the hillside bringing light where once shade was

Bubbling over the snows-cape like a babbling brook picking out the unevenness

Wild Boar and deer tracks cri...

Poetical Speakers Corner

More and more cash you take from me
Bloody liberty
Look my wallet, its runs on fumes you see
It’s got to be fraudulent, you’d tax my wee
Yes, you’d tax me spending a penny
You’ve no chance, wealth not in my company
Now I am broke, you’ve seen to that
You over stuffed bureaucrat
A monumental stone bust
A monolith to all blood you’ve had
That one banana in the bunch that’s gone bad
You throw the skin bene...

Remember me at Christmas Time

The cold reaches to the marrow in my failing body

I stamp my feet in the vain hope to warm myself

I’ve a good spot again this year, opposite this posh shop

Each window contains these mannequins, my family

They are proper posh you know, given them names too

As the seasons come and go they get dressed for me, it’s my world

Yet still I have my faith, try hard to rejoice each Christmas...

Alien Inside

Alien Inside

It’s been a few years now since my space was invaded

Some E.T. having triggered a rouge cell in my head

I did not volunteer to become its host, my brain toast

All I know is that it’s an evil little bugger, slowly spreading

Its roots are like red weed choking my communications

Picks parts of my body to destroy receptors, implant its own

Whole areas of inner landscape turn b...

2 X Girls = Don't

Reminiscing on my lustful youth

Oh! all the times that I had

I thought myself very clever

I had these two girlfriends on the go

I would brag to my mates

I just to see the looks on their faces

Dad got me out of a few close shaves

My although he didn’t approve

He questioned my morals

Treating women like a business

Dad called it ‘balancing books’

Our front door being ‘goods in’

Sa...

Lovers

Tonight it felt real, two souls, burnt by lover’s first flame

Flames of passion ignited, bodies intertwined, intimate pleasures

Nothing was held back; whims, needs, asked for and given

Their bodies were exhausted, union made, gazes met, hearts stolen

Though worlds apart, this world belonged only to them

Passions united, from who knows where, and where will their love lead on

Winters Dice

Winters Dice

The darkness of night was being washed away by the first rippling specks of light

The birth of a new day sent the suns rays dancing upon a shimmering white surface

As the temperature crept up the dusted snow branches released their burden

As the clumps of snow hit the covered forest floor it startled a young deer

Sending it darting for the cover of mothers protection leaving c...

Shades Between

Not everything is black and white

Colours change as dark meets light

Shades change as we journey to the night

The tapestry of life with complicated weave

Tests our skills in attempts to deceive

Colouring our past our future; what to believe

Shadows dance change perspective

Thoughts once plain become reflective

Chance of success is subjective
