Biography
Wordsmith. Comedic poet with attitude. 65% Victoria Wood, 25% John Cooper Clarke & 10% Joyce Grenfell. A mature woman surviving life's battles, anxious to tell the world why it sometimes has to lose. She has written all her life, and if she could write it again she'd make sure it had more exotic locations and an inherited fortune. Reviewers (sober ones) have said: Sassy, wickedly witty, fast paced and thoroughly entertaining.' 'Very clever word play, as good as Miss Wood.' 'Mischievous fun...hilarious...defiant.' Something in Pink I'm stuck here in something in pink, Rubber, five-fingered and plunged in the sink. If I must wear rubber, then make it a basque; A little excitement is all that I ask. And something's just struck me as I stand and think: My own wrinkled skin-suit is pink.

Fifi, your comments on White Rose were absolutely spot on for me. I tried to get the feeling of peace into it.
Thanks for taking the time - appreciated
Lovely to have met you at Arvon too. I re-drafted Wife and Mother there, I had stupidly tried to give it a happy ending (for years), softening it so it didn't have an upsetting effect on folk. In its original form the ending always kind of irritated me, and I kind of felt "permission" to give it the proper last two stanzas there and remove the false ending. One of those poems which is coloured by whether the person reading / hearing it knows the background or the writer, no idea how it works if you know neither!
Hi Fifi, glad you enjoyed the Arvon. We have had 2 weekend residential WOL weekends so far in or near Hebden Bridge. Hopefully there will be another at some point, Winston
