Keith - Contagion, muchly obliged for the encouraging response. I just take the figurative mind pen out of its box, remembering one commentator who thought punctuation was sometimes inhibiting. ? P.

Don - nothing more exciting than having your new shoes being delivered by Shoe Zone. And, I was very excited to hear that you were excited to hear about it. It was so exciting in fact I drowsed off in the chair with the excitement of it.

Hi John,
I wanted to thank you for your supportive remarks posted on my homepage. Well, I read your sample poems a while ago and found them remarkable. It's a pleasure to read your poems always as there is a lot for me to learn from them.

Hi Binte
I like your style of juxtaposing thoughts or actions or descriptions and trusting the reader to make the connection(s) by reading between the lines.
Every heart sings a song, incomplete, until another heart whispers back. Those who wish to sing always find a song. At the touch of a lover, everyone becomes a poet.

Speaking for myself, I said "pre-diabetes"...the prelude (with suitable
medical warning) that too much sugar is the problem. I have a sister
who has suffered the type 2 arrival late in life and it has affected her
in other intrusive and unwanted ways that have caused problems
ever since. I believe a sedentary/till job (now retired) in a major food outlet - with tempting discounts to staff on food not sold on any given
day - was the trigger to the weight gain that seemed to herald its
appearance. No wonder the alarm bells are ringing in a certain
large country in which it can now be said that no longer are people
living off the fat of the land,, but that the fat are dying off the land !

Hi Ray, back from the dead!!! Not quite dead funnily enough, but flu - whole family even with the jab. Then Christmas with shopping /cooking etc. When I needed them, my computer, dishwasher, and washing machine all went on the blink, (that phrase is a bit of a giveaway)!!! Then to top it all my ..!!!!!!!!!........... husband fell, (entirely his own fault, I say nastily), cracked several ribs, and has behaved like a grizzly with a sore head ever since! As if that wasn't enough, had to cope with a son's legal separation. Whew!!!!!!!
Any way all moused up again and ready to go.
Liked your Masterplan one, but what fell deed or deeds is it referring to? Problem is I can think of so many!
with affection, Jennifer

Hello Don - am I right in recalling you mentioning Adelaide as your
part of the world? I've just been watching the cycle race Tour Down
Under on Freesport TV here in the UK - featuring the countryside
around Adelaide. A big event in a big country, given big attention.
AND won by a certain big name: Richie Porte. Hurrah!

Hi Hannah, welcome to WoL! Some great works you've shared here. love your use of language and the pursuit of the avoidance of cliché is something I wholeheartedly support! I also like the idea of the of the title being separate to the words themselves; it's not something I always do myself but I really like the idea of using the title as a key to unlock the poem. Really looking forward to more of your work. Tom.
