Thanks for your comment Andy - it's appreciated. I seem to be in an overwhelming minority in my beliefs LOL - yet to me the reasons are so blindingly obvious! May see you at Butterflies next month. xx

thanks andy for the comment. i went through my bukowski phase about six years ago- never sure i truly left it. he's quite dangerous because he makes everything seem so easy and romantic.
i would consider reading it out at some point- but you right i think i'd struggle to make it all the way through.

Thank you for your kind words, Andy. It was a pleasure to meet you and everyone at Guitar and Verse; I've been made to feel very welcome at both G'nV and WOL so I'd love to perform at Butterflies again if you'll have me!

'lo Andy - cheers for comment on Peace and Quiet. Yeh, last line isn't really meant to 'fit in' as such, it's more of a bemused final statement. That kind of feeling you get when you get battered for doing something your parents wanted you to do in the first place!

Hi Andy. Thanks for the kind comment on my poem "The Tall Green Grass". This is one of my husbands favorite poems.
I guess I need to read a lot more poetry to make constructive comments. I don't write a lot of poetry myself.
Thanks
Shirley

Hello Andy.
Thanks for your suggestions on my poem "The Price of Freedom". I have posted an extended version.
I have never posted this version because a family member told me it was too wordy.
Anyway time will tell.
Thanks
Shirley Smothers

Andy, well, the very thought of you, red-faced! Thank you for your kind comments on "Dark Words". You are right of course. I didn't really write it to be read so much as for myself to perform so I shall take another look. XXX

thanks andy , i am not fantastically thrilled with my poem. It does however sum up the idea of an escape for me. albeit a spiritual one .

The sense of place and atmosphere in 'Kemptown' is almost palpable. The repeated use of prepositions makes reading the extract like being led on a journey - and I'd like to know where it goes next. Great stuff.

I am familiar with the plot summary of the novel by Robert A. Heinlein, but have never read it - sounds very intriguing though.

Ha ha! Good thing I changed the line, "in dreams I strum the sculptures..." from, "in dreams straddle sculptures..." Also thought of "caress the sculptures" but didn't like where either idea might wander!
Cheers for your comments :) x

Thank You so much Andy for your kind words Re my Poem.
Yes you are so right Gus and I really must get down to getting that particular canvas finished although knowing Gus he will no doubt opt for a matt finish... in front of the fire.
Hope to see you soon

Thanks, Andy, for taking the time to read and comment on "Pink Tulips". If I had to guess, you probably don't think I need a stanza on "heart" AND "soul"....?
In any case, I appreciate what you had to say and I'm so glad you enjoyed it!
