Hi Andy No need to apologise! Yesterday, I had to ask the window cleaner for his name again - I just can't ever remember it! It's Jason by the way.

Andy, thanks for your appreciation of Snow on the Pass. To be honest, I've been surprised - although pleased - at how people have reacted to it. Maybe it's the weather ...

Hi Andy, thanks for the comments on Ghazal (hour just before dawn). You mention 'lots of images going on' and this is a feature of the ghazal form where the couplets are unconnected but somehow related as a whole. I sometimes think of it as a painting with the couplets describing features within the picture, Win :-)

Thank you so much Andy for your comments particular with regard to the subject matter.
To the many of us who are or who have been pet owners the death of an old family pet is more heartbreaking than we could ever have imagined the loss irreplaceable.
In remembrance special moments are poignant such as a family gathering in the garden late at night the air giddy with sausage and burger and where the moon and stars were just a jump away.

I'm enjoying writing the short ones, it's actually fun editing out superfluous words.

Thank you Andrew for commenting on the poem Be!which has recently had it's 21st Birthday and now has come out of the closet as a blue poem. Why blue, I don't know, it won't tell me no matter how much I threaten it with a huge and efficient rubber eraser. So it remains a mystery though I think it might have something to do with the equation a2 + b2 = b2 x a2 - n

Good afternoon Andy
It seems to me that FREEDOM is a catalyst of circumstance, for example the cigarette crying for freedom is at once set ablaze and is extinguished humiliatingly into the stench of the ash tray who in turn cries out to be set free from its foul labour.
Of course not one of them realising that the cigarette smoker desires to cease his or hers odorous habit and be set free ….and so on.
By the way still waiting for your poem..??
Once again many thanks
Gus

They cut into the hill
Like detectives chasing down
A cold blooded killer
On the run
Thrusting into bush and tree
Across moonlight before the wind
At the furthest edge
Of a deserted train station
They cut into the past with a dagger
Across the evening colours of the sky,
Reddening with light
Warning all to run away
Pictures of their bombs still scar my memory
Even though
I wasn’t there

May thanks for your encouraging words Andy ,It seem my 'pink and pretties' are getting as much comment as my poetry which really wasn't the objective, however don't let that stop you... wash day is Mondays.
Thank you so much for your comments and for taking the time to read.

Thanks for reading and commenting on 'Bite the Bullet' - your comments are always much appreciated.
Sorry you found it a bit obscure - I was looking at the two slightly different meanings and etymology of the phrase - the (misconceived but) common belief that it comes from the battlefield and used as a means to alleviate pain(ie pre-anaesthesia days but this is pretty much discredited), and the second, more modern meaning of suck it up/get on with it; and applying that to a relationship. :)
