Hi Elaine;
Thanks for the comment over 'Up on the Roof'. It's similar in a way this way because of the use of memories and also in the way I undersell the action. I'm a firm believer in holding back a little bit with action with pieces like this as it can when well done have twice as much power.
but glad you like it.
Hope you are good x
Cheers

Thanks for your comment Elaine - the poem is based on a true life moment, as you may have guessed. Kids are great for inspiring, aren't they?
Missed you at the Tudor last month. Hope you can make Aprils. x

Hi Elaine
thanks so much for taking the time to read my poem, i'm happy you liked it.
It's actually one of those poems I've worked on for a LONG time, and seem to finally have it tweaked to where I wanted it.
Am going to set aside some time to explore your writing now...

thank you Elaine for your kind comments on Ward 11.
: ) I was just reading your Moon poem. I love the imagery, frail ancestral bone riddles with holes. I often stare at the moon(probably unwisely)but now will have your images in mind and see it in a new 'light' Did you see the perigree moon 2 nights ago? It was a lovely pale saffron colour. thanks again, Deb x

Hi Elaine, thanks for the feedback on "Twisting Knives", much appreciated.
With regard to "When nothing expected..." it's deliberate, "nothing's" is too neat & proper & I wanted this piece to be anything but that. Also the line is more like nothing ever than simply nothing is.

Hi Elaine Thank you for your observations. Glad you liked 'Belt' The line with the long Johns was cut and paste from another part of the poem during the editing process and hes therefore become a bit disconnected from its neighbours. I will have a look at it again. Thanks for pointing it out. Win x

I am sure that what I tend to read into people's work has a lot to do with the extensive critiquing I had to do in all of my literature classes... ; )

Great ;) It was such fun making haikus
I meant to share this with you but forgot
Catcher
Then all at once a scarecrow
appeared on the page
to thwart my attempts
at making sense of the words
penned by a sage.
A piece cobbled together
bolted shining shards
each image surreal
ached me to feel her soul bared
in lines sharp as swords.
It's nonsense of course, she said,
a glint in her eye.
There I'd been, searching
deep for the meaning, absurd
to be caught in the wry!
My way of saying thank you for sharing so much of yourself, your time, your knowledge and your poetry...
Much love
Petrova
xXx

Yes, I've heard similar tales re young girls and budding sexuality. Makes me boiling angry, the hypocrisy of it all. How DARE they.
