Thank you kindly, Yvonne, for your kind words in response to my poem about legal tender:

"clever piece, so much said in so few words. well constructed. I enjoyed it."

You are most appreciated. Cheers.

Hi Yvonne. Thanks for your kind comments on my blog post about "Pretty Fragments."

The prediction is a really fun thing to take part in, it was the one thing that got me writing seriously again 3 years ago. The folks that take part are very welcoming.

Glad you liked Old Ladies.
We had a Festival for the Over 50's in York last year where I did a spot of 'poetry'. (I was, in fact, over-qualified for a Festival of the Over 50's.)

Thanks Yvonne - I guess that the "Creator" must have decided that love per se was not conducive to progress or else humans might be inclined to stay happy in a state of commonly enjoyed conviviality and go nowhere in the greater scheme of things. Would that be so bad, I ask?! Instead, we seem to have been programmed to have the capacity but not the total commitment...a sort of emotional half-way house of "one kiss forward...two kicks back"; and vice-versa.

Hello Yvonne,
Thankyou for commenting on "Gays".
There is an old (rather politically incorrect) joke about 2 blokes in a pub. The 1st one says he is emigrating. His mate says "That's a surprise" and asks him "Why?".
"Queers" his friend replies.
"How do you mean?"
"Well" he explains, "500 years ago they were burnt at the stake; 200 years ago they were hanged;100 years ago an man like Oscar Wilde was imprisoned; 50 years ago it could ruin a man's political career; 10 years ago it was still in the closet. I'm off before they make it compulsory".
Myself, I am more liberal but would not welcome compulsion!

Firstly, let us thank you for responding to our poem 'Lost'by commenting on our profile page.We think think that way is nicer and more personal as we hope this reply is for you.

Secondly, following your advice we have 'smoothed' the ending over of the poem in question as well as adding an image of such a sufferer.
We hope the changes meet with your approval.xx

Thanks for your comment on my latest Yvonne. Yes - some people just like to dominate/intimidate, be it their wifey or their children.

I suppose there must be women like that around too, but I think it's less common. That might have something to do with the physicality thing or the economics of who pulls in the bigger wage.

Relationships are much healthier when there is equality I think - though maybe it's horses for courses.

People will have less opportunities to 'dig' their way out.

Hello Sweet Pea,
Glad you liked "Crossroads Motel". My personal favourite was one called (I think) "Triangle" about a North Sea cruise ship. I think it aspired to the Caribbean cruise genre but the best bit was being able to see the goose pimples on the actresses purporting to be enjoying the sun as the boat bobbed around off Dogger Bank in an Arctic gale. (Incidentally, don't go looking for Dogger Bank!)
I hadn't realised that your poem pre-dated the actual rail announcement. That's very clever of you - a case of life mimicking art. Will you write me a poem about the Grand National next spring?
