Thanks for your comment on my latest. Am looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow - and since I've got something new to read will probably enjoy it more. I read somewhere that Petrova will be there too - it looks set to be a great night! See you there. x

Re: Winter Walk. 'girlhood' it was and stays. I reviewed my thinking and decided what I have is what I wanted, for those same reasons which you so eloquently shared.

Blimey - thank you for all your recent comments! Yeh, you read right - am fiercely passionate about life. We don't know what's coming up, what's around the corner, the struggles awaiting us, so each single minute of each day MATTERS.
Are you going the Tudor next week? Not sure if I am or not yet, have overseas visitors for the week. Might drag them along!

Happy New Year you! I completely mis-read Cynthia's poem then - for some reason I thought the tea cupboard was hers. Imagined you stopping off on the way to your Hebden experience. I shall definitely have to partake of this hobbit hole experience LOL. Look forward to catching up with you at the Tudor next week - hopefully.
xx

Hi and thanks for your comment and enquiry with suggestions on my 'Madness' poem.
I wondered whether the word 'mocking' should actually be repeated as it is intended to mean the voices were crude and mocking as well as mocking everything that made any sense.
Hope that makes sense :-)

No worries Elaine. What I'd have said was you do seem to be good at picking up on obscure things in other people's poems. Thanks again

Hi again :)
Ha, yes indeedy, sweet catharsis! It's a fine fine feeling to be able to make something good out of something so bad.
I like your interpretation of the bike title...and it can also be seen as bike = cycle ;)
Thank you again for taking the time to read and comment Elaine. Would be good to meet you some time :)

Thanks for your comments Elaine.I like your first profile poem. You convey very well the morning mix of practicality and mental exertion required to get out in the morning. 'Cold water...cleans away night's fears.' I really identified with this.

Thanks. I was really annoyed I had to leave early on the Tudor night. Oh well, i've got a sabbatical coming up from January to April so I should be able to come down to a few more events. Any you can suggest.

I'm glad you made the connection of hydrate with tears - that is what I wanted to communicate - the idea that your tears could be used to bring someone back to life - it isn't overkill for me - I like to express myself passionately.
I think deep down I probably was thinking about the love of a mother for a child. I have never loved a partner with this depth - though as I said before, I know such love does exist - I've witnessed it.
Thanks for taking the time to comment and to think deeply about the words - I really appreciate it.

Elaine - thank you for all your comments. I thought at first that gmail was playing up, or you'd edited one comment several times - until I clicked on each link hehe. Doh.
You picked up on maw and paw :-)) Yees...never my favourite person, to put it mildly!
Your nod of recognition...have you written about yours?
Thanks again Elaine for taking the time to read them and comment

hi Elaine; - thanks for your comments on Tunnel 3... It's a un-usual topic what I have wrote about here certainly and not one everybody will know something about.
the story itself is fiction, but as with everything I write there is a element of truth in it, and the questions are questions i certainly would ask in that kind of situation - something honest and close to my heart..
glad you enjoyed the piece x (and the use of language as you pointed out is on purpose) xx

HI, Elaine. If driving into the Manchester area was not a problem I'd be delighted to make your personal acquaintance and drive to Hebden Bridge with you. You'll need to be reasonably certain of directions as I quite suck at navigation. I can read a map if clear instructions are given as to what to watch for; British signs still bonker me a bit, but I concentrate like mad, if I'm not talking! Can't do both at once. Be warned. If this idea sounds good, contact Sean at once. I am lower floor, early kippers (just sharing a fact, if it interests you.) Cheers. I wait to hear.

Hi Elaine, thanx so much for your comments about my work, I try to keep it simple and it#s from the heart and that seems to be what people like, poets or audience.
I should be posting a new one soon, but also look forward to reading more of your work, really like the first two. Hope to see you soon (on the stage?) Jeff X

Hello Elaine - I enjoyed your poetry. Welcome to WOL - hopefully I will get to hear you one day - you seem local enough - I would describe myself as equi distant to those 2 cities. If you are looking for venues, do try out the Tudor in Wigan, 2nd Thursday of every month. x
