sorry - been away and just got round to reading your comment on my profile page. Agree with most of it - but history has shown that, as a threat to the world, the only real player on the stage based on past form - is the fascist state

Dear MC., I was both sad and disheartened to hear that your poem Double Guff has been withdrawn from the site. The poem merely expressed a view point with no bad language or overt prejudice. I can think of a number of previous poems which should have fallen into this category but not yours. There are none so illiberal as those who proclaim to be liberal. Don´t be disheartened but press on my good friend. People went to firing squads for less.

I enjoyed your tale of Ronnie Kray, Mark, thanks for passing it on. So much has changed. That was really their territory, but influxes of all races has re-defined the area. They were the days of the "geezers" almost passed into legend. I for one enjoy the vibe, though some of their associates were disreputable to say the least. For instance Lord Boothby and procurers of rent boys for the mob. Incidentally, I met Ronnie's driver, Checker Berry, from a family of boxers. He became a ticket tout in the 90s. Now passed on.

HI Mark . I just wanted to retract my claim on a recent post about Your "cynicism being intact" re Sadiq Khan. I didn't wish to imply that your approach to life is cynical, in fact you have a shrewd observational skill, which may include elements of cynicism as in that case. It's hard to all things to all men, and I try to be lively and immediate in replying to comments, and to broaden contexts. So, please take this as a one-off. I would hate to think you got the wrong idea!

Have a good Christmas and vive les comments.

Hi MC We all know from a negotiating standpoint, union leaders and politician's demands are usually over the top, then when challenged through negotiation, fettled down to a more acceptable package "in this instance"by the democratic process existing in most EU member states.

On this speed shrunken planet imperialism is on its death bed radical change is sorely needed by way of a united Europe as an example to the rest of the world.

And as one wise commentator quoted to me on here at W.O.L.

"Those who forget the past are doomed to repeat it"

We have to break away from the revolving repetitive sequential events that inevitably end in violent confrontation, by accepting that the EC's example of economic and political cooperation is the only sensible way toward stability in Europe. Our membership of the EU since the early seventies has enriched the quality of life for most of the member states including the UK, together with an accumulated frictionless seventy three years since 1945
The cost of living has risen considerably since the electorate (minds tainted by old fashioned Imperialistic reactionaries) voted to leave last year and will continue to rise, chasing a pipe dream't impractical, isolationist, independent, behind the times, future.

In a country that depends on foreign investment to prop up failing industries. The only successful 100% "british" export to date. Is our language.

Dear MC, thank you for the comment on my poem, Anxiety, My Companion (a daily struggle). I have done both therapy and medications. Sometimes it helps other times not so much. But I do try to keep a positive attitude and writing helps. Sorry to say but My Daughter suffers more than I do and has no insurance, and in the United States it is difficult to get help.

Hello MC,
Sorry I only just saw your comment on my song Sammy Be Goode and the issue you have in accessing my Just Giving page via FaceBook.
I don't want to seem presumptuous but if you would like to make a small donation to the Teenage Cancer Trust I have attached a link to their webpage where you can do so directly rather than needing a FaceBook page to access my JustGiving one.
Many thanks,

MC, thank you for your comments on the content on the poem A Frontier of Contrast. It makes for some interesting reading. I agree with your use of the word indolent as this can apply to most Latin countries as I well know having lived in Spain for many years. There can be no doubt that California is an economic giant which will always attract wealth but what it has invested in its pristine beauty it lacks in culture. America is highly multicultural which cannot be said of its southern neighbours who are more monochrome in their complexion. America has no cohesive culture but a dynamism to succeed; to create wealth. Yet when the wealth has been created they are stymied in their search of culture. Thank you again for you comments which I value. Keith

ty for your kind comments; yes i know there is good in the world; but at this moment in time I feel the guilt of a celebration when there is so much horror going on around us; it is for each of us to express these feelings especially if of a sensitive nature; we all have opinions so in poetry we express them in the only way we can
