Whiskey in a Teacup
Whiskey in a Teacup
She walks with grace, her steps a gentle rain,
A whisper in the wind, yet a storm contained.
Her presence feels like fine whiskey's warm embrace,
The kind of beauty that disrupts the world's pace.
Her aura pulls, like a magnet of soul,
An invitation to lose all control.
Eyes like honey, with a dangerous glow,
Her warmth is ...

You're a Big Girl
You're a big girl
With every decision you make
You don't waver in front of people
With the choices you've made
You stand your ground
With a smile or one turned upside down
And you're outspoken when bystanders look away
Sugar, spice and everything nice
Is not all what you're made of
Your sweet and sourness gives you power
That keeps you from going the wrong way

Not Broken, Just Outspoken
Why can’t I just be outspoken?
Why does my confidence in being who I am, make people think I’m broken?
It is true that my life has not always been kind,
But having a bad life doesn’t have to result in having a bad mind.
I take pride in what got me where I am today,
While others stare silently and listen in dismay.
Admittedly, the road I took was not always by choice,
But ...

Time
What is a day but a measure in time
don’t you hear your own clock chime
You might think it's not so simple
So refuse to act on this impulse
just to think of what others may say
But now is the time to seize the Day
Your future is earths worm food
For our life can’t be renewed
Our ashes will be left behind
That's how it's all designed
So live the life you ...

Speaking Up (Confidence)
Speak up now, speak up. I hear you cried
why oh why , don't you say what's on your mind
conforming like a lamb to slaughter
not firm or rigid like bricks and of mortar
I know it's wrong to stay in silence
but fear alone tips the balance
to my conformity and uncertainty
The little voice cries again
speak up now, m speak up
Don’t be a victim let words be weapons
Like arrows or ...

If They're Good So Are You
28.09.21
It gets better,
a friend once said
You’re not a bad person
Shouldn’t wish you were dead
Everyone is their own worst critic,
He said to me
And when he needs an ear,
I listen intently
We swap stories,
One back and one forth
Lighten the load,
Keep each other on course
When friends are down
I feel it too
When people are sa...

Riding a rickshaw through the uneven lines in my hair that I made when I tried cutting my hair
I tried to be a changed man,
so I shaved the sides of my head,
but it quickly grew back out,
now I'm drowning in pointless doubt.
Could it be what you said,
cause it haunts me when I'm in bed.
Few words on repeat,
just seem stuck in my head.
I tried to be a changed man,
but habits don't die young,
running up on empty,
ever since I left me.
And my confidence is tanking,
I just nee...

Down But Not Out
I have rebuilt myself before
Because life often pulls me down.
I get gradually unhinged
I end up scattered on the ground.
I have rebuilt myself before
Well enough to carry on
Only to find
Never firm against everything.
Never resilient as I'd need,
But life has taught me many things,
So rather than be afraid
That this world might leave me battered,
Or this world might leave me...

Creativity Costs
You are enough.
Insecurity or
grandiose confidence
isn’t necessary.
Doubt, distraction,
procrastination, fear,
impostor syndrome,
borderline lunacy...
are costs of the
creative process.
Keep creating
through it all.
But, then again,
what do I know.

Smiles
Upon first glance,
I see a Hollywood smile,
an air of intrigue greets passers by.
But, when I look into her eyes,
I see something much different
than her pursed lips convey.
Reservation, disappointment,
distrust, trauma, fear...
all pushed down, covered
with happy highlights
for the world to see.
Perhaps, it’s simply a reflection
of my insecurities,
but...

Artists & Critics
She doesn’t sing to win awards,
she sings to breathe life to her soul,
connect with spirits tuning in,
let them know they are not forgotten.
She knows she will have critics
that judge her art lacking.
Their negativity is nothing she hasn’t
overcome from herself a million times
on her rocky road to freedom.
She smiles as the ivory tickles her left palm,
sur...

My Confidence
My confidence might be a house of cards,
And topple over with no safeguards.
My confidence might be a pane of glass,
And be seen through and easily smash.
My confidence might be a rare mink vase,
Worth much but breaks to a thousand shards.
My confidence might be a beautiful flower,
And crushed with just a little power.
But my confidence might be a bar of gold.
Strong and valuab...

Goddess
My face may not have symmetry
My skin may have spots
My belly may roll and wobble
My thighs may touch... a lot
Petals do not have symmetry
Mountains may have spots
The ocean may roll and wobble
The clouds they touch... a lot
I see the beauty of nature
Everytime I look at me
I was handcrafted by goddesses
As is everything I see

TAG
Over and over,
I see your name
like a tattoo
on my brain.
A flame
that ignites
not on deed or fame,
but simply a name.
A tag, reminding us
who we are:
dreamer, poet,
old soul,
who despite living
an alternate reality,
believes in passion,
love, happily ever after...

At Last
I can’t believe I found you at last. I haven’t seen you since I was 17.
A few times I felt you near, but couldn’t see you because I was blinded by my attachment to shining knight fairy tales, white picket fences, and the American dream.
What a relief to know you never really left. You have been here all along, patiently waiting for me...
to smile at my reflection in the mirror.

YOU AND I
Living in my own world
Not giving a damn about anything but me
Call me a self centered freak
But thinking 'bout myself is a good change
When everything revolves around you
Nothing ever done my way
You're on cloud nine with a tiara on your head
I'm on the ground with mascara trails down my cheeks
In this big world with turns and curves
I saw all the ups and downs but more...

CONFIDENCE
If you learn from the past
Improving your future
Then you'll achieve the goal
And reach it safely faster
Pay an attention to move
Know the direction to go
Have time to Improve
Act well, not only "show"
Earn your people' regard
And don't cross the fence
Know the value of the word
Now you've got confidence

PANDEMONIUM
Causing unnecessary chaos
The place which was once my peace stadium
Now a pub of high teenagers and thugs
Smell of pot and weed all over the place
Coughs of exasperation and smoke
A gong sitting with their alpha and weapons
Little black dress, I walk into the room
A cigarette in my hand, unlit keep in mind
Waiting for the time to be right
I shall puff them right outta my ...

Consuming Thoughts
i am consumed by my own thoughts.
stuck with no way out of my own mind. i wish i could escape it.
how does someone get to this point?
i look for help in the wrong places.
the few people i seek
don't hear me.
there are people in this world who need to hear that they are doing a good job.
its like being eaten alive slowly.
because rarely does the person you want...

FOOT BY FOOT
I hold your hands
For you to take a step
For you to tread ahead
For you to stand straight
For you to hold your head high.
Step by Step
We walked together
For you to gather strength
For you to gain confidence
For you to fathom a future bright
For you to stand to apart upright
Higher the Flight
You rose to heights
For you to shine

Shy Ann
Pale faced and nondescript
until you don the warpaint,
Dances with Wolves.
Wary of the white man
speaking with forked tongue.
Brave intentions,
you lead the war party
to the Big Horn.
Young Guns –
Beware
The Squaw
on the warpath.
Rattlesnake smile.
Hidden behind
the tribal colours.
