Hi Ann. Thx for your interesting take on my creation 'hunt'. Maybe your comments show that these things should not be explained in detail and that the picture should be painted by the reader. Win

Hello Ann - I'd love to find out more about the Witchcraft Museum book you are appearing in - I'm involved in the curation of an exhibition in Northampton Museum commemorating the 400 year anniversary of our witchcraft trials in which 5 people were hanged, and will be arranging some spoken word events in the town on and around the date of execution.
I last went to Boscastle in 2009 - just after I got my bardship. Fascinating place, isn't it?

How does he get away with it? Just read your profile poems for the first time since forever, Ann, and was very struck by them. I'm an incompetent birdwatcher and love Divers - such very special birds and this has got their strange otherness to a T. Fantasia is very special - Moxy's said it for that poem.

Thankyou very much for commenting on My Least Favourite Things. I do hope to rectify the balance by doing something a bit more complimentary about Selby in the near future. Also, congratulations on winning AE's Happy Competition, though how a miserable old bint like you won I'll never know!

Ann - just a couple of things I wanted to say to you and keep forgetting! Firstly - bloody well done on setting up the open mic night, that's fantastic. I am thinking of setting one up myself in St Helens as we don't have one here, so if I do, I'll be in touch with you! Second - congrats on the radio show :D Oh, and there's a third and fourth - your poetry has come on in leaps and bounds since I've been a member on here (been nice seeing each other's stuff improve), and that's a cracking photie of you! :D
Take care, have a lovely xmas break, Laura xxx

Hi Ann
Lovely, as ever, to get your thoughts. It's not difficult to understand the basis for the poem, but a small explanation
Ann died on the 1st August (5 years ago) which is Yorkshire Day (Yorkshire as you may know, from your school history lessons, is the white rose county

Ann I really liked the weekday idea for the unicorn poem. It sets it into a time frame that still seems brief but has a longer feel. I think had I done it I would have spoken to the unicorn a little too.
Great work,
Graham

"Jolly good??? Jolly good!!!" Well said, Matron.
I suspect you mistook my efforts on "Everybody's Gone Serfin'" for singing which is why you posted "Space Junk".
You, in contrast, have a lovely voice which I hope to lull me to sleep one night!

Pleased you enjoyed 'Childhood'.
I've found that just about anything and sneezing is painful. I have (on the odd occasion) sneezed whilst breaking ****, and that is unbelievably painful. You don't know which end to concentrate on :-))

Hi Ann
Thank you for commenting. The competitions have only ever been a matter of individual initiative. If you wanted to get the ball rolling on another round, the field is open! Though running the open mic evening may be taking as much time and energy as you have for poetry. Good luck with that.

Ann, thanks for commenting on the poem. It's meant to be about kids in care and their experience - being let down by neglectful parents, having, as typically they do, special needs in spite of often being very bright, and the reactions of the media in too often condeming them - forgetting that they are children basically, but that they live outside of what we hope is a normal experience, that of a loving, caring family and friends. Hi Ann. Glad you liked The Wild West. I like Poetry Cornwall too, well laid-out and with a strong cultural identity. I also remember praising your Great North Diver at some very early hour on WOL - and mentioning DH Lawrence. So there's a bit of a coincidence! Greg
