Thoughts of the rebel MP's
We know you want Jeremy Corbyn
but we don’t give a shit,
you must have one of us instead
so we’ve chosen Owen Smith.
We acted unconstitutionally
but that don’t really matter
as we care not for democracy
and we’re learning all the patter,
using double-speak in the press
because they’re all on our side.
The Tories don’t want Corbyn,
in fact, they’re terrified.

SCATTERBRAINED (acrostic sonnet?)
Scarcely have I thought to act in good time,
Challenging for me to remember things.
All that information lost from my prime,
Trust my memory to glide off on wings!
Those commodities I forgot to buy
Especially at supermarket stores,
Reaching home without them making me sigh
Because I have to go straight back outdoors.
Reality check comes when I appear
At venues having lef...

The Snurdle-urdle-urdle
A snurdle-urdle-urdle
Is walking up my path,
He’s ringing on my doorbell
And asking for a bath.
I don’t know how much water
This strange creature may use.
I offer two fluffy towels
Enabling him to choose.
He cheerfully takes them both,
And turns on both the taps.
Uncertainly, I leave him,
He should be fine – perhaps!
Ten minutes have now gone by,

Dangers of Brexit
We already have control of our borders
But if the vote Brexit wins
how much control do you suppose
we will have on that one in Calais
when French authorities send them all
through the tunnel or across the Channel?
Why would they wish to cooperate
with a country leaving the EU?
Why would they want a camp
of desperate people on their border?
And while we’re about ...

the taste of his lips
savoured on her tongue, she waits
with seductive eyes.
her nakedness lures,
striving for satisfaction
his release is sweet.
she wants to cry out
“too fast! too sudden! slow down!”
yet fakes her pleasure.
was that it? she thinks,
he yawns, farts and turns over
soon starting to snore.

sensual awakening
tear away my resistance
my silent barricades
rip away my tight control
steal my heart away
peel me of my inhibitions
free me of my clothes
lick my body into life
forsaken for too long
drive away negativity
let us be as one
steer me on to ecstasy
i want to love again

I closed the door

Joys of nature
The sweetly scented lilac bush,
those purple iris heads,
blue flowering ceanothus
among pink heather beds.
Sitting in a public garden
gazing out at the blooms,
reflecting past relationships,
we sang in different tunes.
Some wanted different things in life
or were, for me, just wrong
I was yet to find my soul mate
until you came along
From recent t...

you always wanted more
you always wanted more
much more than I could give
more than was reasonable
more than seemed right.
you always wanted more.
you wanted the moon
the stars in the sky
the heart and the soul
of the universe
you always wanted more.
these are the words
you said to me
but none of them are true
I only wanted you
to love me.

Referendum Blues
IDS is a liar,
Boris is a clown,
Cameron’s a hypocrite
and Gove just gets me down.
They’re bickering on the EU
with many an absurd claim,
they’re ruining our country
and giving Europe the blame.
Hunt should have a capital ‘C’,
Nicky Morgan is a dunce.
Can I vote out of Westminster?
And find sanity for once?

Questions of verity
Is there no real truth?
Or are there just
different versions of facts
depending on
points of view?
Or is this just an excuse
for those
who will not see?
Those
who do not wish
to recognise
the truth?

Pesky packaging
Now, I’m rather partial to clementines, I find their tang quite tasty,
but stores now call them ‘easy peelers’ so I can’t shop too hasty.
They do the same thing with satsumas so I once bought them instead.
What do they think they are playing at? They’re messing with my head!
So rather than study fruit bags or risk being their easy target,
next time I want clementines I’ll go ask for...

Lunar Eclipse 28.9.15
Many times have I watched
a big red sun
as it slowly sets on the horizon
but never before had I seen
a big red moon
until the night we stayed awake
lying in bed
gazing through open curtains
till 3.30
in awe
at the magic
and as we watched
no telescopes necessary
the eclipse reach totality
we saw the moon
become a
spectacular red sphere

washed up on the shore.

Panama fallout
The Icelandic PM had to resign,
his people knew just who to blame.
Is it that the British are so benign
or Cameron that has no shame?
Or is it our press that chooses to cheat,
refusing to report the signs
of the demonstration at Downing Street
that continues ’til he resigns.

Panama scandal and atrocities of government
Well, apparently we are all in this together
so let’s all fill in our tax returns
with “this is a private matter”
and direct the response to Cameron.
After all, he thought it would work for him.
Let’s cause his world to shatter!
After the omnishambles of the budget
where the chancellor thought it fair
for the sick and disabled to fund tax cuts
for many a millionaire...

We all pay out for their second homes,
we pay their electric bills,

and any number of frills.
We paid for Miller’s parents’ house,
for Duncan Smith’s underwear,
for his 39 pound breakfast
and they preach to us of ‘fair’!
We subsidise their consumption
at restaurant and bar
while some of us are hungry,
our money don’t go far.

She wakes at 1 p.m.
Sunlight peeps through unfamiliar curtains,
barely recognising her surroundings, her memory returns with a bang;

Sorry

Deflated, she inwardly chides her reckless behaviour.

Of course not,
what an absurd idea.
Equally absurd –

shuffling
unkempt,

A bag lady
lowest of the low
probably on drugs.
