Hi Dave, thanks for commenting, i have never actually been to Yosemite but i would like to! The poem came from a thing on my google page, one of those 'thousand places to see before you die thingys'. The pic was very provoking for me. You lucky bugger, having been there!! x

Thanks for your comment on The Tide and the Light, Dave. Have been enjoying the gritty realism in your recent poems, although sorry about your car, of course. If it's any consolation, the same thing happens in leafy Surrey. My daughter's boyfriend down from Manchester had his hub caps pinched when he came to visit us, and my son's car was broken into outside our house just a couple of months ago. Greg

Hi Dave, thank you for your kind and thoughtful comments on my poem Spinerette. You are right, it isn't in the word book but it is real, she is real,to me. She comes from Cornwall or Brittany but as both people's are connected originally she must be from both. She is not a spider-woman but has qualities of a spinneret,(which a spider does possess) being that she draws out my feelings and emotions like silk.thanks again : ) Debz xx

Hi Dave - Ta for another lovely comment. No, the production line is all my own. I think it's just that I've only been writing for a short while and all the ideas and images of my life are suddenly unleashed! I'm really enjoying it too! Just posted ANOTHER one. But you see, someone mentioned dolphins to me today and I just thought . . .

G'day Dave - thanks for the comment on my profile - as you say on yours there is a lot of fun to be had just by trawling the site. I think now I would have liked to have made a bit more of the fact that the poem has a very poignant ending that has little to do with the science... And a very happy New Year to you too.

Hi Dave,
thanks for your comment on my poem, 'Quercus Robur.'' Appreciate your honest opinion. I did want a sturdy feel to the whole so decided to restrict the flow by using a syllable count. I have a tendency towards over-flow otherwise.

Thanks for your comment on the Tiger poem. Personal problems are a misery for the people involved and privacy is also important.
Both of these things are altered by the involvement of the individual in their own use of their character in the promotion of their business. I have put a brief reply in these terms on my blog.

HI Dave - thanks for your comments... Did you see Andrew Marr's history programme last night? It was WWII and there was footage of Churchill going backwards down a water slide into a pool in a pair of black swimming trunks - fat belly sticking up proudly - I shall never see him in quite the same way again! I delete all my text messages apart from the ones from my husband ... he never texts me unless he's away and drunk - so they're all very drunkenly sweet! Kate

Good evening Dave
I really enjoyed 'Old Texts'. The layout the defiant 'I care'. Such a tender piece. Such an important poem too. I have never thrown a letter away but I fear the widespread cull of communications by txt and email carries little discrimination or caution by people generally. Glad to hear you are an e-hoarder of sorts too!
thanks
Joseph

I liked your Churchill poem, Dave. He had all sorts of flaws, as you acknowledge, but he was the man for the hour. His spoken words still stir the blood and bring tears to my eyes. He remains THE symbol of Britishness for me, and that's why these other parties try to hijack him for their own purposes, of course. I didn't have a problem when a protester gave him a Mohican a few years ago ... he was big enough to take that in his stride and in some way it only added to his iconic (overused-word, but the right one here) status.

Thank you for your kind words on my poem, 'That Tomorrow'. I am not quite reaching for the rope just yet. I remember reading something in the neww about bankers getting their fat bonus payouts and America spending daft money on the space programme. That got me thinking.and made me angry. Mankind needs reminding that there alot to prioritise and fight for.
That's me done on my soap box.

I had a most wonderous trip, and saw and did some wonderous things, But the Taj was the one that stays indelibly printed in my memory.
