Hi Andy, Thanks for your kind words re my recent haiku posting. Whilst you are spot on with your comments on this one (In that the reader gets a snapshot and is left in suspense) I don't thik this is always the case with haikus. Win x

Thanks, I wrote it at night where I'm generally at a creative high but my spelling suffers. I'll take into account your advice about the first couple of lines. But it generally takes me a while to think of alternatives.

Thanks for your comments on my poems - you are such a great supporter and reader of poetry on here - WOL is lucky to have you. Both the poems were fast writes - I have to be feeling angry or miserable to write like that so thankfully, I don't do many. Normally I agonise over poetry and there is tons of stuff I don't post. Good to see you at Salford - hope to have more time to chat next time - there's always too much poetry at these things LOL x

Hi Andy. Loved your sample poems! Animals In Their Bags makes me think of my daughter and her friends (all around 14 months) - I found the poem very real and true to life, especially the last line - the adult who just has sandwiches in his / her bag (and if anything like me, now feels a little silly for not having an animal in their bag too!). Brief Encounters is hilarious with its unexpected ending and Perfect Place is simply beautiful - I've also been to this perfect place and I think you've captured it beautifully for anyone else who's been there too! You capture the scene in all your poems really well and I have no problems imagining I'm right there. Looking forward to reading more. Dianna

Thanks Andy for your comment on ..PERFECT DAY..I'm glad you liked it and I will consider your advise on those two lines. Yes I did go to Steves group a few times and enjoyed it .he is a real nice guy, but due to personal reasons at the time I kind of dropped out of the cozy writers and wol. but I am back now with a bang ! and enthusiastic once more and it feels good ! x Bernadette

Thanks for your comment on my latest Andy. By 'not serious' I meant that the poem was chopped up prose rather than classical poetry - with no startling imagery, assonance, alliteration, rhyme or anything you would associate with poetry.
Its strengths are its simplicity and the message which is very serious. I guess I'm looking at the props we all need to make life bearable, love being one and faith in something, the other. The unhappiest people I've met are those who believe absolutely in nothing.
I look forward to reading your poem on a taboo subject LOL xx

Hi, Andy! Thank you so much for your comment on my poem "Spring meets summer". You know that English is not my mother tongue and I sometimes don't feel the exact meaning of this or that word as you do. May be it could be better if I finished the poem with the word "wisdom" without looking for the rhyming word and without that "winsome".
Your poem "Perfect place" is beautiful. I love it.
With warmest wishes,
Larisa

HI Andy
I just wanted to thank you for making time to give your views on my Stalingrad poem. It means a lot especially as it resonated with your friend too who is more aware than most of the history.
Hopefully I'll be getting more time to return comments after this project I'm working on.

Hi Andy, thank for your comments on River Mermaid. I know i'm int' wrong place to say this but i never think of performing when i write because as most ppl who've seen me will tell you, stanzas wouldn't make any difference cos i read too fast for anyone to notice the breaks. that's why i haven't done it for months. I should remember to breathe at least. thanks again, deb : )

Hi Andy. thanks for taking time to read and make comment on my last 2 blog entries. You have raised a very interesting point. In both cases you say. 'I bet this took you a long time to write'. Well, I think that both poems are a similar style. The frist (Coming home without you) was written pretty much instantly with only minor alterations whilst the second (It only ends once) did indeed take ages to write and has changed so much that only a few bits remein from the original.
