Thankyou for commenting on my blatant advert for our village fayre, Be Ye There Or Be Ye Square. As everyone here roundabouts knows, I have a dirty habit so I shall be going as a monk.
Did you notice my previous, "Crossroads Motel"? I thought it might appeal to those "of a certain age"!

Hi Isobel
Have you seen that someone (Eastern European) has already been deposed as Gold Medal holder? Shot put? Hammer? something like that. New Zealand girl moves up, but it must be bloody annoying not having the medal presented at a proper ceremony

Isobel - as I wrote in another context on WOL -
there's no copyright in a title. Besides, MINE
has BIGGER letters - so there :-)
I'm not sure if I want you to win(?) but humour deserves its place on the podium.

HI Isabel, thanks for your comments on 'Us Nolimpics' I hope your sister enjoys reading it. As I can't get over to Lancashire from Doncaster - too many commitments - I'd be happy for you to read it at a WOL or other session over there. ( I don't often get back to my roots these days)

Hello Isobel, my thanks for your comments on 'Life's Towpath'. Yes there is something magical about water that brings out some thoughts and feelings - and perhaps helps with their flow too!
I wish you luck in finding your way to finishing your canal poem, I owe my effort to Winston for prodding me about his project, or it would not have been written.
All best wishes, Dave

Tis I - Humbug
As in most things that I do in life, there is only a smidgin of reality in 'The Flaming Torch', but thanks for pointing out my humbug life :-))))))))))))))))))))))
I really do intend getting across to Wigan soon. Hectic at the mo, but should settle down in the next week or so

Thanks for commenting. The three were different takes on our place in the universe and our belief in our own importance.
but what I mean by them does not matter, if they dredge different thoughts out the minds of different readers.

Hello Isobel
Many thanks for commenting on Mr Gabardine Man and Avant Garde Verse.
Contrary to popular rumour, Mr Gabardine Man is not entirely autobiographical.
On Avant Garde Verse - no doubt zoologists can define an elephant; I settle for recognising one.

Isobel, there it had to be you, making me do something that I hardly ever do.
I have qualified the last line as you have suggested (but don't tell anyone, I don't want to be asked to do this too often).
Seriously, thank you very much for the very generous words. It was a very worrying piece to write.
Best regards,
Graham

Now, now, Stella, just because I'm gorgeous, It should not require you to subject yourself to dismal self-abuse. And as an addendum you got it correct I followed all three elements of advice on 'A Lady's dismissal'(as did Stella) I must stop writing stuff at 3am. :o)

Hi Isobel. My daughter got a kick out of your comment on my poem "Haiku about a Stolen Poem."
We are from the United States and from the south so sometimes we add syllables were it's not supposed to be. LOL!
As for the poem it's a short one and it was posted word for word. As I told the websites administrator. I have no problem with someone posting my poems I just ask that they give me proper credit. Well I've ranted enough.
Thanks for all your support.
Shirley

Hi Isobel. The funny thing about this is my daughter says poem is one syllable and I say two. I have adjusted my poem,"Haiku about a Stolen Poem."
And I am about to post the more gentle poem about the same subject.
Thanks
Shirley

Hi Isobel. Unfortunately my poem "A Haiku about a Stolen Poem" is true. It was more like the poem was used without giving me credit.
I will later post a second poem with a gentler tone, about this experience.
Thanks Shirley

Many thanks for the kind comments on my poems recently. Sorry I can’t offer a more personal thankyou but I’ve got gremlins in my machine which makes typing a comment over the internet take an eternity. Hence this rather impersonal catch-all done in Word and pasted on-line.
Notwithstanding, many thanks.

thanks for the comment on in dreams Isobel, yeah.. i sort of wrote this when cathy was asleep - it made me blush big style - lol in particular the reference to my love remaining a constant.
the first part of the title is in reference to this - http://www.napowrimo.net where if you follow - you have to try to write 30 poems in 30 days... i've managed the first five even though if they are a little rough in places...
My blog over this is http://30poemsin30days.blogspot.co.uk.
No plans to publish all of the poems on here as it's too many but a selected few maybe a good idea...
speak soon x

Hi Isobel
Thanks for looking at 'Out'. I'm not too sure where I could read it - I was half-anticipating a bit of abuse, but I hoped that it would be seen for what it is.
A friend of my daughter has a gay brother-in-law and he is going to his stag, and it was this that formed the start of this thing.
I read your offering, and honestly thought you'd been carried away by some Wigan hunk

We all get moody and melancholic from time to time - life's pressures and all that...
I've reached a stage where WOL is like a second home - somewhere I put my thoughts - or don't put them, depending on how I'm feeling.
I'm off to bed now - perchance not to sleep or dream x

Hi Isobel - thanks for your comments on 'Caught short with thought' a few weeks ago. Yes men do suffer with some bodily functions although I've tried to make observations about 'womens things' in one of my recent offerings 'Period of Change'! Must be in touch wth my feminine side!!!

Hi Isobel,
Thanks for your comments on Maternal Beacon I hope it has given you some positve vibes.
I've had this in my locker for some 20 years but have only just managed to let it flow/release, if you know what I mean. But I have found it to be a good theraputic walking stick!
I can relate to and like your 'A prosy poem'.
It hits the nail on the head for me, if only people in the loop would think the same!
Mike

I might just do that. I got family in Liverpool so you never know, and i do like a good pie. However being from South London it'd be criminal if didn't have some mash with it. :P
I took the poem down in the end 'cause it was giving me a bloody headache. I had no idea it would cause that kind of palava. It wasn't even one of my favourites anyway.
I will say this though; It's been emotional.

i agree is. thanks for your comments on bio. i think it also important t focus on the other. people outside of ourselves. we might feel like shit but if we get out of our selves and do something or feel something or give something for someone else it helps. im a selfish bugger. no immediate family some days i only think about myself and perhaps the cat. it s no good x

Eh up Is - ta for your note on Equus :)
I just put a note on Anthony's profile but I'll repeat mesen here. That last verse isn't entirely obvious, but may seem so because we are all aware of the phrase 'all the pretty horses'. The phrase actually originates from an African American lullaby, sung by a female slave taking care of her master's children, and unable to look after her own due to that. Kind of an analogy with general enslavement. Worth looking up if you don't already know it :)
See yas tomorrow night anyhow :)
