Your wife's eyes are blue
Mine are green ,
My lovers eyes are blue too ,
We run from each other ,
So alike you and I,
I thought I'd found the man of my dreams again ,
And when it all goes wrong again ,
Its you I want to talk to

If only you where here with me ,
You could help me stop this pain,
Like the rain ,
I know who you are,
I know what you do,
I still love you .
The vaccination , has made my head hurt so ,
Im alone at home.
I think of you again .
Am I always destined to be the other woman ,
Again I find myself so.
We are alike you and me .
So alike .

I was listening to a 23-year old young woman on BBC R4 this morning complaining of the ongoing effects of 'long Covid' that she was experiencing. These messages should be plastered over billboards everywhere to warn the young and reckless that they may be storing up a lifetime of debilitating trouble for themselves, to which God forbid, death might seem a better option.

Good to see this serious side JC, reminds us what a good poet you can be!

Totally agree with JC. Proper outdoor folk would never countenance
that sort of selfish illegal behaviour. Anyone who has been on the
tops of places like CairnGorm and Ben MacDui (let alone lesser
places) will know of the hazards and risks to life and limb - never
to be treated lightly. Those who put themselves in need of rescue
in any place which has a rescue team operating are at the bottom
end of human intelligence at such a time as this.

My reaction to this story was pure anger at the thoughtless and selfish individuals who he tried to rescue, Who flouted Covid rules and have seriously endangered a volunteer by doing so. A fine on them is scarcely justice.

Thank you D Joshi. I got so angry when I heard this on the news, those two people received a £200 fine for breaching lockdown rules! This brave volunteer will now spend the rest of his life in wheelchair. Up to now nearly £700,000 has been raised.

Brilliant. This is such an important principle. I think the analogy of steps is most telling for me, if a life is measured in steps why would you want to hurry to the last, the top step, but perhaps rather value every step for what it teaches us and celebrate reaching each. I love this Aviva.

I.N.P. I have nothing but respect. My son in law's Dad was a marine during the Falklands & no doubt saw (& had to do) terrible things, but never spoke about it, until a couple of years ago he took his 2 Sons back there & explained a bit of what happened. They couldn't believe what they heard! Sadly he passed away suddenly just a few weeks ago.

I can't elaborate much on this one as whatever kind of feelings it was trying to capture it managed to do in 'poetic' style whereas I am not sure if I even know enough vocabulary to put those underlying thoughts and views into prose.

Thank you for the comment, Keith and to everyone for the likes. Sometimes, hearing a beautiful piece of music for the first time can create an experience which is hard to describe and difficult to recapture.Perhaps once we encounter perfection, or near-perfection, everything else, as the advert used to say, is just toothpaste.

Thanks John, glad you liked it. I have started on one that's deeply personal, but can't seem to get near to finishing it, which is unusual for me, normally it's a pretty quick affair, this one took about twenty minutes in comparison. Mind you, the idea's been knocking round inside my head for a couple of days. ❤

Thank you Stephen very much.. to be called a poet! Wonderful. I posted the full series one after another as they were a complete story, start to finish. I didn't know if people would get that and just put it down to a bombardment of poems?
Ah well it was poignant to me, the first time I've put pen to paper about it all. Interestingly you'r the only one to comment. So thank you so much for that.
