I think it's quite epic.
If we've made it this far as humans, we surely must come up with solutions for the problems plaguing our planet.
And please don't feel guilty for meating and meat-eating. It's also the joy-of-living.

Very clever Manish. I like how you used the coachman to inject the present into the past as he thinks about his past.

Despite all of the available outside help that there is, Connor, my belief is that this ongoing problem of yours, can only, be solved by yourself
the reason for my belief is that no one knows you as much as you know yourself, and that knowing of yourself, is too deep for any stranger to get to the bottom of it.
Good luck with your future, and future relationships.

Evan,
welcome to Write out Loud. I have been a member of this site since 2017 and it has been a joy to read the poems of others and receive criticisms of one's own work. Hope to read many more of your poems.

Evan,
I am sure that this poem lies in the heart of many. A famous man once said that, 'we are in this world, but not of it'. I think these words are very appropriate for your excellent poem.
Thank you,

Life is a journey that's what they say
Enjoy the ride for it will be over one fine day
Your destiny is in your capable hands
Carpe Diem - Take a chance on life's shifting sands
Embrace the beautifil gift of today
It is worth the gamble come what may
The time will come in the blink of an eye
When the whole of your life will flash by
At deaths door you will make your peace
It will be a beautiful moment of release
You will reflect and may have some regret
Dont give up the fight its not over yet.
Enjoyed reading these lines, Tom. I like the poem. Thanks for sharing. Regards, Larisa

This poem has some serious and deep lines to ponder upon. Meaningful and moving. Made me read twice. Superb my friend!
I loved the ending lines very much,
"I fought the fog that tried to settle upon my brain
And with one small spark of hope I searched for you
The thought of your bucket of hope kept me sane
Because just one sparkling dipper and I can start anew."

Beautiful poem, HÊlène. Through your profile picture, I know how you love to grow plants and I love how you've added that here in this poem as your need and want, "I need a bit of rain
to grow the plants."
Thank you.

Hey David,
Thatâs it...
The day does come. Without fail. For millenia upon millenia. The day cares not for past or future. It simply isâŚ
That might sound like existentialism. But, I donât think Iâm an existentialist at all.
The light necessarily contrasts with the void. So, we must allâevery one of usâbe part of the light. Else, we would be void and the void is nonexistence.
Weâall of us, all thingsâare the day. We exist within the day and are of the day.
How can we argue? How can we rush the day? How can we forestall it?
Thank you kindly, David, for the commentâI slightly wish to go on, but in my state of mind, I suspect I will only lose the thread )

Hello, Graham,
Please donât get me wrongâwhere my writing has anything at all to do with work, Iâve learned enough to know better than to leave the vitals open to interpretation.
Iâm half-jokingâyouâre not commenting on how I feel about work, I know, but itâs been a long day )
I understand what youâre saying, though. I wouldnât bother trying to decipher if I were you. Writing, for me, is just a way of processing ideas about which I donât have the luxury of expounding at length enough to make much literal sense, anyway. In other words, if itâs not clear to you as a reader, itâs probably not straightforward for me either.
Thanks for the comment and the compliment. Really, I feel fortunate when I can come through with enough clarity to reach those who read my writing; and so, your comment is encouraging.
