DeVaughn,
I have read the poems you have blogged to this site and am impressed with your style and content. This particular poem speaks so clearly of John´s Gospel Chapter 14:23. I look forward to reading more of your work.

Thank you for the "likes" - much appreciated. Having watched much
of the live TV coverage of the Portsmouth ceremony and everything
connected, I made a point of re-watching my DVD of the remarkable
Darryl Zanuck recreation (in semi-documentary style) on film - of the
events of that momentous time, which although using a roster of
well-known actors - American. British and Continental - never lost
sight of the story it told so effectively in "glorious black and white"
photography, with logistics that seemed to exceed even those of
the event itself when seen on the big screen. The special effects of its day (early 1960s) won an Oscar - in a huge
scale cinematic production that did (and does!) its job brilliantly.

Thank you dear Fish! Though in writing "unborn is he who shall stand up and fight that ancient crime" I didn't have any "savior" of any type in mind. It was my, perhaps unfortunate, way of saying that nobody ever dares to defend the weaker and less fortunate; but if you see something beyond what I see in the piece, good! That's why we write publically. And most of the times the reader's interpreteation goes deeper than the intention of the writer!
So thank you for liking, and thank you for the support ?

"I," said the sparrow
"with my bow and arrow"
I remember that from childhood days and, wimp that I am, it made me cry. What a big baby.

Ah Mae! So much in this. So much visceral emotion. So much pofftness, anger, despair(?).
This-
"Unborn is who shall stand up and fight that ancient crime"
- don't despair He was born and lives.

glad this was chosen dorothy it reminds me of the nursery rhymes that seem innocent on the surface then become slowly darker. have you heard of 'who killed cock robin'? that is a perfect example.

How very sad. How can ordering a book online compare to the sheer joy of being in a bookshop, or taking in one of the experiences Anna has created for others, particularly children?

I am sure that the attitude that you describe has encouraged little girls to be 'Little Princesses' or 'Little Mummys'.
Such a shame missing out on all that fun - ball games in the park -
clambering on fallen trees - hunting for tadpoles,
And then we wonder why they use too much make-up and have body-image problems.

Ha...many a true word (or something!). I took my mother on a visit to
see her eldest daughter who had married a WW2 vet. from Louisiana
and during the course of our first enlarged family meal together I was
met by frowns of puzzlement from some younger members of the
Stateside family and was somewhat disconcerted when they complained to their mother that they couldn't understand what I was
saying. Me?..who had conversed with many Yank tourists seeking directions ("how many blocks to Regent?" etc) on Oxford Street W1.
But I quickly realised that a deep Southern drawl was unlikely to
pick up on "received English" too quickly - and things improved
when I adjusted my words and speech pattern accordingly.

Try doing the maths? If it's a numbers game, my last information
amounted to a thousand mosques here in Britain...compared with ???? Christian churches in Islamic countries. It's hardly a case
of 2 and 2 equalling 4 where religionists of any belief are involved. ?
