Can anyone spell out for me -how- one actually gets to 'pin a poem' on the map?
Thanking you in advance.

Hi Chris - Good read. I've found something on Uchtryd's Summer Place (a part of Wales I once walked) but who is Mariamé?
Go well

Keep at it Louise. It takes courage to reveal personal struggles on a public stage to an audience of strangers

John I'd like to offer my
Advice from aging years
(You gotta catch these poems quick)
(Before they disappear...)
Down to tin tacks.....
John I hate to tell you
The body does wear out
With too much hanky-panky
Too much gadabout
I know you don't believe me
Think you're still virile, strong
That you can still bed down a lass
I'm sorry John, you're wrong
Accept your fate that nature gave
There's nothing you can do
(You could perhaps try pumping weights?)
Or bid your youth adieu ?

I somehow missed this one - sorry.
it is such a brave poem, it has a ring of defiance about it - head high facing the world.

Thanks again Jason and Don.
I think I'd go running for the hills from some of them Australian spiders, but the ones we get are quite harmless.

Yes John, I'm doing this on at Well spoken next week. I do have another new one too, but then I'll have to regurgitate some of my old crap.
Enjoy your holiday, hope to see you in July.
Cheers Kevin

For me? I just laugh at their antics

Well I have to say it's about time,
You dropped in with some Aussie rhyme,
We all hope that you'll soon get well,
And recover from your falling spell.

David you comments are always welcome. It is good to hear a point of view that has first hand experience of such situations. I cannot and would not pretend to be able to do so.
Thank you for you input in this and as you say if nothing else it may cause a talking point and therefore some further thoughts in the hearts and minds of others.
Thanks David

What a delightful piece of whimsy - with all the nuts and bolts hidden away too and, as d.K so spiffingly declaims, a web spun by a webb!
Well done Dorothy awfully well-penned!

Thanks to Robert, Jon, Mona, a fishamongmany and Kim for liking.
Thanks Dorothy for commenting. I feel the whole situation is rather sad. However my take on it was the songs were more songs of joy than lament. But I totally get what you are saying with regard to affluence and the appalling inequalities that abound.
Your comments are much appreciated.
Thanks again
Martin

Sober, thoughtful - a measured reflection on times past. Well read
and clearly well felt, but having reached my mid-70s I can't identify
too much with the pessimism of the last lines - indeed, in some respects things are better than before. And nature will always reward
the ability to adapt to changing circumstances - mental, physical and
financial. Hang in there and relish each day as a challenge as well
as its own reward. ?

Time to stand on your own two legs - even weight on both - and repair the ladder.

"The night passes amid parents singing worship songs"
what a sad hopeless picture that sums up
compare that to the affluence of Trump Towers and other 'palaces'
it sickens.
