Jane, thanks for picking those lines - a visual anchor in the poem, well spotted. Much appreciated. (I do dismal quite a lot but hopefully with some humour) !

Thanks Rachel. That reference was a like kicking a ball, I didn't know where it would end up; I know what you mean, without that in mind the rest would be unfathomable!

Hello again Raven.

You have taken on a unique challenge here. I feel I am at least partially qualified to make a decent attempt at commenting on your epic task here. The point is that most only seek help from the cards when on unsteady seas, as you must know. I have been involved in helping some sporadically with my cards. I only work psychically with one card touched by the person seeking advice. I get mental pictures, and usually the information I get through can be quite daunting for the recipient, often acknowledging some stray details, but overwhelmed by the deeper truths that are revealed. I have picked up names of deceased relatives for example. I treat it as an honour to do this. One could allow the ego to intervene, but rather unwise to do that.

Your knowledge of the packs is invaluable, and so much lies within them that a whole analysis of the human forces can be explained to an extent.

I hope your continued postings bring forth some fruit for you , I really do. "He that hath ears to hear, let him hear."

Love and goodwill to you. Ray

A real curio of a piece and compelling David. An inside out poem for me with some intriguing surprises. I sense something desolate about it - like a black and white film you might have once seen.

We all to have our own ideas with poetry of your kind Rachel. Never a done deal to try and be precise; suffice it to say there is magic in the words and a duality which is subtle. Intriguing.

This is not going to help with Brexit Becky - just joking.
Very enjoyable a tour de forks perhaps. Lovely easy rhyming style, can almost taste it.

this has happened to us all, at least the older among us.
As you say we visit out of respect for those who remain, but sometimes one would prefer to remember the person as they once were, not as they are now. Agree with Taylor that it is the 'how' that is frightening. A violent death, or lingerin on too long, which happens too often nowadays. Very sensitive.

Brian - I think you should message Becky privately for "gateaux pour les nuls" = "the Idiot's guide to cakes"
Perhaps you then wouldn't send the kitchen up in smoke?

JC - I've never argued that there will be no difficulties. My
point is do we have the courage to endure them while we achieve the essential issue of self-control and wider
horizons in trade? As for "experts"...I find their uses
are invariably compatible with the argument(s) being put forward. Time will be the deciding factor...time and the
will to see things through now that we are set on that
particular path.
Cheers.

Sorry Brian I usually resist the temptation to use French words in my poems, but I thought it was called for this time...

"haute" = high "pattiserie" = well, cakes and stuff

"chez" = with - but it's usually used to say "at someone's house", as in for example "fete chez Becky" = "party at Becky's house"

"gateau aux citrons" = lemon cake!

"gateaux pour les nuls" = "the Idiot's guide to cakes"

"en français" = in French!

Good job I didn't write a re-match in French huh!

Now Becky, whose surname is Who
Your culinary talent may have drifted
Far and wide but not down to Australia
(But I'm sure you use flour that is sifted)

Might I suggest Brian gets Mary's cake book
I see it's title is Foolproof Cakes
In video he's such a wild cooking maniac
He'd do with calming down when he bakes

This lemon drizzle cake's got me salivating
'Tis pity Australia's not far or wide
I notice your recipe is secret
A weapon you do wanna hide

You surname called Who still intrigues me
I've never come 'cross any 'Who's'
Hang on Don, who's that guy in the red box?
Yes, forgot, of course, it's Dr Who ?

Seriously Becky, you have done a great job getting this together in time under 'difficult' conditions.

I write what crosses my mind or what I've seen with my own eyes, but the audience needs to guess from which category the poem falls under.

Thanks Rachel for your support. This is obviously not my first controversial poem on WOL. This poem is relatively tame to some of the others.
