Expressive to be sure.
art and poetry can and should prick the conscience of the population and our leaders
I share your anger but how to turn it into something positive is a different matter.

Thanks to Pat Andy and John in commenting. and thanks to Nigel for liking.
I am glad you picked up on the undercurrent on this one Pat. I often feel that people treat such events as attractions when others are hurt or even die.

Sorry to be late coming back on this one. Thanks Suki. Pure devilment on my part to construct this - but I like to challenge.
Very generous David, thanks. I personally feel that this poem is like a road diversion that maybe readers may not want to tangle with (that's if they read it at all of course). Life with the dressings removed.
Thanks for liking it, Col, Kevin, Des, David and Fred .

This moves like a novel, deep and convoluted in so few words. It could have 'simple surface value' or 'many layers down', according to the reader's own sensibilities. In short, I think it's a really good poem in concept and crafting.
I sure hope you both carried your cans home to the trash.

Artur,
Thank you for your explanation which I find most interesting. So many people I know do not acknowledge that we have a spiritual nature and therefore possess no faith. For me my faith is an integral part of my being, essential for life itself. Thank you again. Keith

I'm really happy that you found the interest in that poem, and I'm even more happy that it moved you. ?
I'm really happy to discuss that with you further Keith
I trying to look much deeper to the meaning of faith
I feel that definitely it's a gift to all being in Universe
Even animals putting the faith in there existence for findind food, shelter, belive in us .... Ext ext
It's a part of every day life, we buildning our faith from the moment we born and we invest it in what ever we desire, wish and the most important we putting faith in our self.
Keith I feel that faith it's far more then then concept of rational though
Your faith was always with you, but you choice to invested more in it and you directed it to whatever every it's important to you
This is what I feel my friend
I feel we having very interesting conversation right here ?

If so, that's unfortunate as it's been an enjoyable experience in the past.

Artur, I am intrigued by this poem. I have always understood that Faith is achieved either by rational thought or an innate belief in the numinous. Is Faith therefore a gift? I particularly like the words you have used, for example, ¨A choice is its inseperable companion ¨. ¨Every living being carries the seed of its essence ¨. My own Faith was not achieved by rational thought but through a sense of the numinous which developed within my inner being. I would like to discuss this further with you. Thank you for a verse so thought provoking. Keith

Good question 220. I think it would be a useful tool but only if the 'counter' is seen by the individual who posted the poem and not everyone in general. Otherwise it might become a rather unfair and unofficial competition of who is or isn't the most popular poet! That would also sit uncomfortably with the idea of community encouragement that Write Out Loud seeks to foster. Whether or not it is possible to do I'm afraid I couldn't say. One for the WoL tech team to ponder?
All the best, Colin.

Sorry for reading this late but I have been sooooo busy at work over Christmas I haven't had time for anything else.
Ray,
The first two verses made me think of something someone told me the other day. It is thought now that your DNA dictates your health and chances of surviving serious disease. Is there destiny in your biology? Does God play a hand in this? Are science and theology moving closer together, as we discover more? I'm with Wolfgar, not for me. But it made me think.
On a biblical theme, you reap what you sow. I think evil is probably nurtured and allowed to bloom. Innate badness is probably the exception to the rule? I hope so, it would reassure me.
Super sad and disturbing poem. Very thought provoking and maybe I enjoyed being made to think.
Beno.
