As always (Perhaps I should state it more often) thanks for taking the time to read and comment. Is there a way to know if someone reads a person's work unless there is a like or comment left? They are kind of like the only footprints on your page.

Hi there Ray,

It must be an incredible shock, and not only for the more pious, when their pride and joy turns out to be a gift from the depths - a curse - and the cruellest of reflections. Disbelieving eyes raised to their Creator above..

Very well deserved win, part of a great legacy.

I attended one of her Arvon courses and she was both a good teacher and a nice person.

just to add David
mine was a 200cc Triumph Tiger Cub.

May the Gods of motorcycling be in attendance or a manual be to hand when you dare venture into respraying

in the old day's we 'knockabout-rockabouts made do with Woolworths gloss paint and some of Dads parlour whitewashing brushes

used for stars and striping our helmets
(headwear I hasten to add ;0)
having been mesmerised by the Easy Rider film.

I always looked out for Peter Fonda and Dennis Hopper in Woolworths to no avail-wonder why? maybe they didn't take traveller's cheques?

Patricia and Stephan - I have been daydreaming about respraying the side panels ?

And I know what you mean Ray, every time I get an MOT on the Triumph I'm disappointed with how few miles I do in a year. But you've just inspired me not to sell it yet ?

This brings a lump to my throat David, as I bought an old boxer BMW and fell in love with trouble and worshipped it on my hands and knees (out in the open). I did about 200 miles on it then sold it ( but I did ride it in the winter).

Still nothing to beat it though!

if that cover DOES come off David make sure you don't do as I did which was take mine to pieces lovingly sand down as many pieces as possible and repaint each one. They all drying to a beautiful glass-like finish.

(you can probably imagine what happened next )

yep, I could not for my pedestrian life to be, remember how they went back together again (being manual-less at the time) DRAT!

I joined Poetry Plus in July 2017 and a more welcoming group and pleasant atmosphere one would be hard pressed to find! The focus is on reading poetry, pure and simple. The October meeting gives a good idea of the eclectic material that one can expect to hear. As well as attendees having the opportunity to read their own work there were pieces from such well known names as Sir John Betjeman, Mya Angelou, Pam Ayres, Yeats and W H Auden. Themes covered such diverse material as homelessness, the countryside and Bruegel's Fall of Icarus! Several readers also took the opportunity to read Halloween themed poems. If you can, do give Poetry Plus a try. A warm welcome and stimulating evening await!

Touching and true in its evocation of how happy times from
the past can return without warning to refresh our often
tried and tired lives. Like the poem itself, the realisation
rekindles hope for the future.

it is one pain in the butt having to pay taxes Ankita and the other is what our hot air blowing so-called representatives spend it on as in a soon to be white-elephant aircraft carrier Putin described as " a nice big target" what does that tell you? Thank you. Jemima.

JC meets JC - and walks the line to another slice of chuckle
inducing parody. Mourinho certainly seems to be slipping
into Scrooge mode lately and needs to lighten up! Even
his newly bought players are starting to look as miserable
as him even when scoring goals. No names, no packdrill!
