An excellent poem. Some nice reach rich description with so few words. Puts me in mind of Dylan Thomas in some ways with your use of words.
Well deserved POTW
congratulations

Laura,
You think this is bad? ...I recently had a C,T scan,
Before which` I was reassuringly informed, that I would be getting about four hundred times the normal dose of X ray.
and then further reassured that the scan itself can ( rarely) cause cancer But ( and this is the best bit) that two out of three people get cancer. (I suppose eventually)...At least it
sent me into it laughing.
( just thought I`d cheer everyone up ?)
Keep your poems coming!

Cynthia-
I never mind your comments! Writing, or at least mine, is meant to be read deeply and torn apart!
Your comments are always appreciated!
Thank you,

Thanks Cynthia ☺my writing was sparse for awhile as I tried to piece my gear together but have been on a writing binge the last while, as if it had built up just waiting for my mind to let it loose. Glad to be back and as always, your kind words are always appreciated

Thank you Cynthia ☺ i I actually ripped off a rock band called Earth. One of their albums is called the bees made honey in the tigers skull however they probably ripped it off someone else. I'll more than likely change it as I don't like using some thing so close to the originall without asking first. In fact this will be the first time I've ever come even close. I'm going to email them and ask because they're not that famoushe. Thanks for the comment, much appreciated

I applaud you here Mike. As my wife has a badge we qualify for negative thoughts and envy from some , mostly kept secret of course. When a disabled space can't be found she's often hemmed in both sides. Perhaps if there was more space for each car for non disabled it might ease the situation but I doubt it.
A valid poem nicely presented. Ray

It is so great having you back on board.

Splendid thinking, and writing. The title is superb. Why do I think I've heard this reference before? Possibly Biblical? It just 'tinkles in my brain'; but maybe just because it's so good. So ANCIENT!

I much admire the soft and the hard, the tender versus the potentially destructive, support instead of aggression. IMO, it does indicate a strong penchant to decide what 'truths' you want to embrace to ensure personal happiness.
If my comments are ever too intrusive, please just say so. Perhaps I can be too bold.
But, then, why do we write!

I'm very pleased for you Tom. I think that would be a terrific book to obtain, so please can you link me up to get hold of one please if possible. I hope you get a good turnout for the launch - I can't be there sadly. All the very best.

It had to be. I swear it 'had to be!'
It's the scope: often particular, but always with an eye to the general 'game'. Librans move like pieces on a chess board, with 360 degree vision, seeing innumerable ways to get from A to Z. And there's no such direction as 'backwards'.
I'm not sure whether that makes actual sense, but I've got a general idea what I mean. To be honest, it kind of sounds like the pith of a poem. I might pursue it.
BTW, I really like that 'Bacon' quote in your Bio.
Regards,
Cynthia

I would hate to live this life. Our hero has lost any semblence of compassion for the world outside.
I used to feel this way, quite literally. Then they gave me pills and I still see the world this way, but now I want to go out and be a part of it. Pathetic, no?
You've captured this morbidity perfectly.

As someone who knows why a person would take Abilify, I am sympathetic to the trap. The constant nagging of mental illness sucks our energy and shoots us out a cannon. Like a spinning top always at the edge and never fully upright.
You have captured its essence. Enough to drive one crazy.

David, can we persuade you to continue your wistful witterings? They are so very good - especially when the worms make walnut whip casts in the sand. Were you @ West Wittering? Col.

brimful of agitation that rightly puts the reader on edge. The title I had to Google but the word itself could almost not be a brand name - to be abilified etc. Excellent poem Kealan.

This is lovely- thank you for taking me back to my childhood! Although, to be fair, I never really lost my vivid imagination. It is something I have nurtured and loved throughout my life, and something I'm proud of still! In any case, this is spot on, and captures my childhood and memories excellently!
Thank you for the memories!
