Thankyou Zuzanna and Mel for your comments on my poem.

I wrote this poem because as humans we often punish ourselves, beat ourselves up about the most trivial of things, and we are only hurting ourselves and in the process I feel that this takes us further away from out true self, and we can become detached from others'.

Thank you again

Nice poem Daniel but shouldn't it be called synthesis, after all that's what a thesis and antithesis produce innit?

Thanks Dave

Apart from poets, I think I might choose a donkey and a couple of camels for company when I celebrate.

Might get a camel to put a red nose on!

Hi Honey, I hate myself for this as I'm always wittering on about the genius of young people but I was shocked to see your pic as I figured that poem was written by a much older man, please don't take that as an insult - I think it's cause the character in the poem seems so much older - I don't know I think maybe because of all the religous references in some ways I pictured Jesus talking to Mary Magdelain. I look forward to reading your other stuff - I just read this poem again and every time I find something new in there which is the mark of a good poet!
Good luck with it all.xxx

Simple Mal

Leave yr family, don't buy a tree, don't eat turkey, stay up all night, don't share your house with a donkey, avoid the path of dusky potentates (and the camel shit), and don't celebrate anything involving other people. A perfect recipe for mid-winter contentment. Most of it's worked for me (other than the other people bit)

Clarissa and Zuzanna - Once again you make me fill with hope .....Im really happy that you can take something from this important poem. I think it seems if you write when really upset it brings out fantastic work.

You are both writing such crafted pieces of work, I'm feeling overwhelmed.

David, please let that feeling pass, you dont know what happiness and positivity you have brought. the poem draws influence only from the events of a sunday evening, hurt in context is understandable...and anyway people like yourself and poets here....have a love that draws tears from hardened men.

Hello Richard

Your varieties in writing that give more broad spectrum and enjoyment to read. The poem will be very boring if there were only one style. The more styles the better. I see you being very gifted and it is good to have you here. Keep up the great work!
It is mutual pleasure to read your writes.

Hello Malcolm

Your poem speaks volume. lots of interesting lines from your personal observation and love for animals and Nature. In this poem I found a lot of metaphoric expressions.

"A lone rabbit hops past. His white
Tail flashing its signal of good health.
The small, brown body slips
Down a small brown hole.
Yards later, from that other world,
His white teeth flash their
Message of good will."

EXCELLENT WRITE!

Thank you...Zuzanna

Hello Pete

You are excellent in your creativity and the use of vocabulary in this poem. I thought at first it reminds of a Shakespeare's poetry. Some of your words must admit we do not have in our English on this Continent! You may say well, I do not care. But this is the truth!

Thank you for sharing the special dedication for Pat...Zuzanna

This is you Dave, this writing. In style, it reminds me so much of that piece you write about meeting Lynda at the Cajun dance. I think THIS is your voice, your genre. You do it so well. It draws the reader (me) in and makes me want to keep reading. Nice circular touch with Walking in the Air.
