Love the whole poem, but especially 'Acting out two dramas, the one on the outside and the one on the in' and 'which is the meat and which the mirage'

I think this poem would fly much further with a different title. This title doesn't seem to have much to do with the poem ? I thought of 'The Frame For Wings' or 'How We Could Fly'. ?

Very few people have the capacity to be truly honest about themselves, even some poets shy away from self revelation. It takes courage and integrity to write a poem of this calibre and I salute JD for his achievement.
Thank you for this

Aviva, some young lad popped the bit of garden hose in the beer bottle & tried to suck the melted dregs out...then threw them away ? the youth of today!

A poem cleverly constructed which brings home one salient point which is the sad demise of an old lady. The media have said little about the plight of the elderly in the pandemic apart from a focus on families not being able to visit their relatives. Yet I have heard of one old man who in desperation set fire to his home and another who was sectioned under the mental health act. Sad facts of life.
A good and topical poem
Thank you for this

I can never get past the cheating. People say 'everybody does it' but that doesn't make it right. It just means the 'beautiful game' has morphed into a murky business, a win at all costs endeavour that reflects for me the entitled society we now inhabit.
I do like football, when played properly without recourse to those dark arts that often take the gloss off, and leave a nasty taste.

That bare faced town clock should be the prime suspect. It should have had time off for good behaviour but it hasn't missed a second so it clearly wasn't well behaved. I'd go back and ask it again, and even if it isn't saying anything, look where it's hands are pointing.

There have been dozens if not hundreds of poems on here about Covid, most of them predictable and frankly not very good. Yours however Trevor is well constructed with a rarely used rhyming structure which lifts it above the others.

Great poem Abdul. We had thick snow here last week. I went out and stood in the huge flakes as they came down. It felt as surreal as the year itself - but a lot more exciting (and hopeful).
