Glad you enjoyed this Stephen!
Hi Paul, I take your point, i'm glad I clocked your comment.
Hi Aviva, that's a fine piece of subtlety - coming under the heading of persuasion too.. Thanks for looking in.
Happy Xmas folks!

The last four lines of this poem are so good, I was over the anxiety caused by the tragedy of the virus hitting your home, my prayers for you, and yours Pat.

Stuart,
I am able to emphasise with the words of this poem. The way you have crafted the poem is clever indeed leaving its message still loud and clear.
Thank you for this,
Keith

Times of torment make us measure and treasure what we believe in.
This poem has all of that in it.
I'm sorry that you have had the circumstances to create this poem. I wish the world could have found a solution, long before, to prevent the loss and the grief of you and everyone else in similar situations .

This is .... You are the poet that this poem speaks of, and I am the one with the weary eyes who needs your truth.
I'd just prefer if it didn't say 'boy' in the last line (because I'm not, and because it scans better without the word too).
Comment is about Call Down The Poets (blog)

There's a couple of lines that could be adjusted: for better scan (e.g. 'as early as in the morning' -> as early as the morning) , for better phrasing (eg 'something of which now I do forget' - > something which now I do forget *or* something of which now I forget), for missing words (e.g. 'it made feel elated' -> it made me feel elated) - but despite all of that it is still a great poem with a great message. ?

Wild misdemeanours eh, hope Santa doesn't know about any of that!
By the way, I think it's a very sweet and cosy situation if you're hearing all those euphemisms.
It's a sweet and cosy poem too.

A fantastic, descriptive poem.
So inspiring and the need to break free from darkness and struggles is the way to a brighter future.

Maradona's goal also encouraged the thought of those words - slightly amended to lighten the essence according to the scene -
"For wrongdoing to triumph, it only needs good men to do nothing".
Check the linesman and referee and what they decided not to see or
do. If there's footie in heaven, then maybe it would be justice to think of God as the goal-keeper!

This chaotic world we live in
Oh beautiful chaotic world
Do you have a plan?
Do you hear us scream?
Because you're all over the place
Do you ever slow down the pace?
That might be the best you can do
Is everything I hear about you true?
Your reputation ain't good in the millenial minds
Can you blame em?
We just don't understand you
Do this, do that, fuck us over after all those tries
We're trying to save you
At least
I am
That ain't a scam
I want the best for you remember that
Just be there for me, that's all I ask
Love you much, don't let that be in vein

I think I'm losing my mind
Constant anxiousness fucks me up
Not knowing what I want is what I find
When I look inside my mind
Like a library trying to find the chapter
Where this comes from
Where did it begin? where is the source?
Where did life take this course?
Is it me? Did I not foresee? How this came to be. How can I be free? I ask thee.
I think I'm losing my mind
Anxiety haunts me at night
But not only at night also during the day
To others I do not know what to say
I am faking my every move and laughter, love and happiness doesn't feel real
My brain is on fire, that's how I feel
Depression became my friend
Picked me up as happiness left
I felt sadness and lonelyness coming closer to me
At least I'm not really alons, that's what I see
My old friends came around, came back
But confidence I lack
Because what if I only make them up
Ah there's guilt, I'm in luck
I think I'm losing my mind

Spot on! I recall the long-ago gift of some beautiful examples of these items from the American (Louisiana) branch of our family -
my eldest sister having gone Stateside to marry WW2 army officer
Bill Blanchard Jr and remained there to bring up a family of ten.
Well done dk for this perfect reminder of how precious memories
can be preserved in these brilliant baubles.

There's a label that says 'Remove brain if not in use'
stuck onto the inner surface of our skulls.
But it is just precautionary and rarely necessary
To know it even exists.
All that idle chatter and pointless activity
Is just preventing the brain from corroding the body
But it has more purpose than only that.
If all the world were only speaking worthy words of purpose
There would be mostly painful silence or painful cacophony.
As it is, there's always a reassuring background hum.
And we also
Shouldn't give the government ideas
By saying idle chatter is unnecessary
They will class it as a luxury
And put a tax on it.

Thanks Aviva, and you're right of course, it would be far too chaotic, and there's no going back. And Kev you're also right, and I'm sure you know the old saying, "Youth is wasted on the young," Thank you so much Paul I'm pleased you like it, it's genuinely how I feel about life, I mean, it literally is the only deal on the table, "Trading hours and days for life lessons." And MC, maybe we're all old fools in the end, but I prefer to think that we all, "Move with the times," until we can’t move anymore and become, "Of our time." But some experiences are timeless and ever constant. I think maybe that's why as we get older we become more philosophical, because that's what becomes most relevant? But I think maybe we only become an, "Old fool," if we close our minds? ?
