Jason,
This is exceptionally good as it brought comfort and a sense of optimism with it. Beautifully crafted and highly descriptive..
Thank you
Keith

Many thanks for your kind comments and likes. It's interesting how a poem about tragedy can be quite fun to write.

I enjoyed this poem as it was able to transport the reader, through imagination, to share the experience of the two men.

A poem which we are able to relate to but unable to articulate. Very well rhymed with an almost perfect final stanza.
Thank you for this

Keith,
I trust this finds you in good health.
Life's too short to spend it with regret and negativity. It took me some time to realise this.
Positive vibes heal you and those around you, share the love and help everyone!
Thank you for the kind words!

Now where have I been
All of this time?
Took off on a journey
To some far-off clime
Where mask I no need wear
Cos there are no bugs
Floating around me
All sing chugalug

Thanks, one and all, for taking the trouble to read and to comment so
helpfully. I have the fondest memory of an aunt - luckier than most
of her sisters as far as "marrying well" was concerned. She was
unfailingly kind to me in my meetings with her as a boy - and
showed me that having money could also mean using it generously,
a lesson in life that I've never forgotten.

Keith, this divide I see never bridges. It rather keeps widening especially here in Africa.
To rule is if you can't beat them join them.
I actually want to beat them up and toss them aside.
Great work.

What"s that quote about gaining the whole world but losing your soul? (Cue bible bashers!)
Having said that, it's good to have a bit saved to cushion the blows when they arrive.

Emeka,
You have produced another poem which is laden with humanity, the aspirations and thoughts of people about their final demise and what lies beyond. The final stanza is the crowning glory in which optimism reigns supreme. Your illustration is very appropriate
Very well done and thank you for this

Something a bit different, I wrote this around the song titles of two Mark Kingwood Albums. There are 27 titles included in the poem. The aim is to include them all once. A bit random but I like the challenge. I have written others similar.

M.C.,
This poem is so well rhymed but the outstanding feature is the final stanza which I fully agree with. The simple pleasures of life often cost the least. For me my daily treat is to have breakfast which consists of a pot of tea with ginger marmalade liberally spread on two slices of toast. It costs next to nowt.
Thank you for this
Keith

A fascinating recall of what it feels like to suffer from the effects of
more than one illness; a personal return to health set out for our enlightenment.
A small caveat about George Floyd. A check of the PM result may
be worth a look online.

gets the money for whatever reason. ?

I understand that a lot of issues today run very deep. And knee-jerk reactions somehow always end up on the internet. But it was actually a (very proud) Englishman who taught me to use kneepads when working in the garden. ?
Still I think it's best if we all move beyond nationalism.

“We don’t know how to write, but damn we try.” What a great line. I’ve listened to this song on repeat all day. Wow, can Luke Evans sing. I daresay it’s a better version than the song’s creator, Lady Gaga. Gets me in the feels too Paul. Thanks for taking a break from your pantheon of passion to stop by and have a good cry! ❤️
