Aditya this is a glowing tribute to countless women who rise above lifes trial and tribulations and overcome hurdles to unselfishly seek to better the lifes of their offsprings.
The accolade of angels is an appropriate one for this army of uncomplaining single mothers.
A wonderful poem.

A lament to growing old which so many of us will join with you. Your symptoms are universal but you describe them well. Have you reached the walking stick stage yet.
Good poem

It definately wasn't me as myself.
Then it could be anyone.

Some thoughts are best left ambiguous, shrouded in mystery, and your poem does complete justice to that. Contemplative and mystical!

Methinks, love should get better with age unless its root weren't well planted or even now well nourished.
Good piece.

The poem reminds me a lot about the past years of war in Nigeria. The people of Biafra were lockdown with death and hunger.
It is a story my tribe, Ibo, can't turn away from.

“We have crushed the British to the ground, they are on their knees and they will not rise for a very long time.” Aleksandr Yakovenko, summing up Russian achievements during his tenure as UK ambassador, 2011-19. That period includes the Brexit vote, of course. And the project is working, with a Russian oligarch in the House of Lords!

Emeka,
You are to some extent right. Those who are aware would rather look the other way. They are afraid to confront issues. They live in comfort zones. The time is fast approaching when we shall need the courage to stand up for what we know to be right. If not we regress into repeating past horrors and mistakes. It certainly feels like an asylum.
Thanks for your comment. It is much appreciated.

Jennifer am quite moved by this poem as it bespeaks of much lingering hurt, if it is in fact reality, as I suspect it might be.
Platitudes would seem inappropriate - not becoming a repeat victim might be if you know somebody in that position.
My blessings to whoever it is, and thank you for sharing this poem.
Love can be very painful for some, emotionally and/or physically.

Yes You hit the right note Cathy - the physicality of music, rocks you, the spirituality of music, rocks you. Classical, Jazz, Rock, Country, Indie, Folk. All genres and styles.
