A rival to SS 'Poetry Puppets' Gosh! Can I rise to the challenge?
Little secret. They wanted me to script write for the Goons but I wasn't born. What's the expression? Born too late.
Another secret (cat not out of the bag but soon to be tipped out on screen - meow. I was unsuccessful with my audition for Monty Python. Couldn't do silly walks - medical reason - some bugger Clease got the job. Them's the breaks)
Rebel 'L' sounds a bit feisty. Is she talking about sex? If so, not a good role model for her classmates. She'll also have to wait Johnny and Kenny's turn. Oh? - she's meaning bring on the show?
I gotta do some gardening....

Hey Adam? You could be on to something there. No joke. You need to include instructions on how to communicate by talking, the importance of eye contact, how to (shock horror) hug. And don't forget instructions on the niceties like please/thankyou. It's quite OK to give a list of acceptable frustrato words eg shit, botheration, but no F (flock it 2me) or C (come hivver) words please. I'm sure you could add to this.......dk (FFF Free Fone Fighter) I'm sure would happily assist (yes dk-FFF?)

I want these words down. Cos I write them
I, them words, write down. Cos these words want to
But words want to write up. Not down
Tried, I did....

I got a shock last night (true)
My daughter said to me
I'm kind and cheerful (now 30)
Because you taught me be
I thought, did I have such effect
When she was in our care?
For her to now be kind, cheerful
I must have done my share
We don't realize how much effect we have on our children......
Belinda -
"I hope I taught my children enough".
I'm sure you 'pounded' the basics into them. That's all we can do before they leave the nest. The rest is just fingers crossed. I hope you are rewarded by your efforts with an experience like mine.
Oh, and I really liked your poem..........

I don't care what it's called, Ray, it's a great piece of entertainment. Further, it's a prime example of why we shouldn't allow small minds to dictate a bunch of petty and subjective rules for all us proles to follow.
..a real fun read, Ray )

As a teacher I often joke that we need to hold Google drills where we simulate the internet going down and we have a big storage locker where we store all the emergency supplies, books, paper, pencils, and art supplies.

Hi Jason, thanks for the comment on We Were Beautiful. I absolutely agree; we may age but the beauty doesn't evaporate it just mutates. For me it was the beauty of the moment in time I was really looking back on - and that beauty can be frustratingly fleeting ?, Cheers Tom.

Google was simply a robot
Instructions it followed by rote
Not questioning anything asked/told it
Not questioning anything typed/wrote
When Google switched on came alive again
One little Googler rebelled
He went typed 'Kill Google' in it's mouthpiece
And Google short-circuited and fell.....?
And everyone hugged and worshiped real trees and grass forever..

Purely subliminal alliteration?
Squirrel to Smite, gosh who knows?
The writer asks is this going anywhere?
Ends poem with a resounding big No
Maybe the writer should have named it
'This Poem is Going Nowhere'
Preparing us for ride down to nowhere
A ride for which we could prepare.....?

Ruth, re: 'Schizophrenia', the 'first/real' me has always loved ice cream and still does. It was the 'secondary me' who had the aversion. I was very fortunate that I did not get totally 'freaked' about the 'second personality'. Perhaps it was a kind of innate arrogance to refuse 'her' credibility/access. I had blindly heard of such situations, but had no experience with such 'manifestations' whatsoever. None.It was a very scary time.
I so 'feel' for anyone afflicted in this way. It must be awful. Both for the victim, and the people associated, whoever they might be. But the whole experience made me a far more sympathetic person, and open to people's experiences that often seem to be 'bizarre'. Who can presume 'to know'!

Yes David. It's always struck me how little we pass on to future generations. What we learn is rarely passed on, even to our children; every generation has to re-learn what their parents had to re-learn. A truly vicious circle. John

David, Thank you for that link. There is a litany of poverty to which further prayers seem ineffectual. I certainly even in the length of my scree was not able to touch on rural misery so perhaps I should add more lines but I could write forever and not catch up to the banshees howling our demise. Thank you for reading...it really means a lot to me.
