Thank you so much. When her other eye started to go the doctor said it's time. I just could not do it. She was so sweet! I finally got brave one night after she had a very bad day. I called the doctor and she came right over. Betty passed at home in my arms. Still hurts but worth it... its better to have loved and lost than not to have loved at all.

Mac, you're a dear--I can only hope what you say is true.

And, David, that's a lovely comment, too--fantastic: words that multi-task.

..here's to hoping for a quick recovery from a somewhat exhausting week, and the luxury of clarity with which to communicate.

A very affecting poem Hazel - simple well sculpted and is an intriguing facet of life. Laterally thinking, there is a kind of similarity with uric acid stones in the kidney or the gall bladder, such as my wife had with very painful results. Forgive my diversion !

Interesting take, MC. My issue is not with Corbyn’s politics on this issue - I don’t believe he has a racist bone in his body. My issue is with his leadership. Not to see how this was bound to end shows huge naivety on his part. Not a quality I would want in a prospective Prime Minister.

Mac, it isn't bad at all.

Backstabbers and backbiters and people who speak out of both sides of their faces--whatever happened to the golden rule? I have more to say about it than I probably ever will here, because it's, as they say, "singin' to the choir".

..good to see that people are concerned, though terrible that there exists the necessity for it.

Hard to precisely analyse and yet it holds a mystery we would like to penetrate, John. It feels like a frustration of communication on a personal level. Something I can truly identify with. I almost sense a bit of Larkin here, and his isolation in a way.

Hope i'm close. Always I like your work. It has an unpretentious honesty to it.

Wow you guys, I really thought this was pretty bad! I am so excited for your comments.

W: I'm not a huge fan either but come on, don't kick her when she's down! And her words were amazing. In fact, most of these things said people would never say in public but somehow social media gives license to the worst.

B: Yes, trolls are trolls are trolls are thick are thick are thick ...regardless of education or background. Of course, there are many out there who disagree and think I am thick, or worse, but I don't really care, do you. Truth will prevail in the end. I just need the end to come soon.

BS: Ha, BS! As always, thank you!!! It means so much.
Come to the desert and I will share my wine. Drinking in your positivity! Never too cold here! But Winter is definitely coming! ?

HI Don. Object achieved, a bit of musical description goes a long way (like Australia). Thanks a lot.

Hi David, that's an astute point - some achieve variety with mouthpiece choice on a sax, but a trumpet has an advantage of mutes for mood. In one band I was in, the saxes were referred to as novelties. Some interesting points of analysis you make for comparisons, maybe to be discussed over a pint.

Hi Taylor, did I stumble on a truism ? If you think so I am doubly pleased. Cheers !

220 August, funny how a line sort of seems better when it's quoted in a comment. How does that work? So thanks for pointing it out, glad you liked it.

I loved the rhythm it kept. Sounded like it could be a song, a series of limericks, or even the best thing - A POEM!

You did good with this one, and I liked how you kept the sound of one rhyme until the end. I read it 3 times and each successive time found it just as funny and deserving/memorable in all aspects as the first.

When you gonna pour me a glass Mac??
Winter is coming for the year, and it's gonna be a cold one in America. I may need more food for thought and rhythms to drink in! ?

Particularly encouraging for those starting out or unsure about what they have to offer.
Imagination and words are the tools of the trade,
Which - carefully chosen - will never fade.
Treat them respectfully and you will find
That greatest of gifts: that they stay in the mind.

The trouble with politics is that you can't please everyone,
and risk pleasing no one - and no end of explanation or excuse sees you forgiven or forgotten.
How, in this country with its acceptance of various needs and faiths only too happy to say yes to what is offered, have we come to such a scenario of intolerance and distrust being played out within these shores of historical hand-out- to-help-out refuge to those in need?
Indeed - tread warily, for you step on my dreams.

Sorry it's taken me this long to have sufficient internet access to watch the video. What fun! I hope they paid the necessary licensing to the Doctor Who franchise!

My call centre nightmare is those voice-activated ones, as living in France my accent is too foreign for them to deal with. My recent experience with the helpline for the internet connection sums it up: I was asked to respond "oui" ou "non" and the system just somehow couldn't hear my response. My husband had to do it - so I don't know if it has a problem with foreign accents or female voices... Surely I can't muck up the pronunciation of "oui"?!
