Or indeed the decomposing of emotion? I guess I don't like puree. But that's just me! ;-) (It makes me think of baby food.)

howya cynth, thanks for the comments again, i enjoy the fact you always question them, it gives me a chance to describe the content clearly, as reguards to decidious embracement, the general theme is the alienation of new begginings, decidious implys that every welcome eventually decays, i know that sounds horribly emo but i refuse to censor myself on the grounds of stereotype. I feel anguish belonged to the poet long before the emo and therefore we have the right to convey it without generalisation.

This is beautiful, in thought, imagination, and execution. You see the double-edged sword in everything, a sure sign of the poet's 'inscape', and you can give it expression. Poets, so we are informed, see truth most clearly for this very reason, and consequently are driven to share it.

Sends a shiver down the spine Pete! The only thing that jars for me is the decomposing puree. (Maybe it was a jar of decomposing puree!) x

Funnily I find the last four lines most incongruous; whimsical which may not really follow the rest. Added to the fact I think I have a great line about gluteus maximus to add ... and a wish for far more hands!

Hi Pete, I think pocessive should be spelt possessive?
This is a lovely inspirational poem which I am going to read on monday mornings before trooping off to work. Dont make the box out of metal, I guess, at least a cardboard box decays in the rain which gives us all a chance!

John is right. Some poets are very good at putting words together that sound nice. Others are good at putting ideas together in a poem - expressing issues in new and novel ways. Lucky and rare are those who can do both...

I know what you mean about Augusta's stuff, Alison.
But you've no reason to be embarrassed by this - I think it has a perception that can only come from truly honest friendship.
Especially the bit about me thinking that it's you who has the colour. Thanks for this insight.

This is so positive and uplifting Peter!
My favourite parts are:
'A massive hillside of swaying sunflowers
Magnificent!, stupendous!
We are going to be gargantuan together'
'Manic sunflowers
Insane on happiness'

This is fabulous!
Amazing how you have incorporated so many pop culture phrases, as well as political movements associated with the colour green...

I think I get it, the clue is in the title isn't it. These are imaginings of a time gone by perhaps. Unlike Adam's comments I think the last four lines are the most poignant to the piece.

Nicely nostalgic, Greg. I liked "where the winters sold you short" and those lines that Winston cited. Not sure what you're saying here"A kind of muddling, doom at Odsal Top".

Hi Kathryn - another good one. I like Win's take on it too. But with his, I guess you'd have to change the title as I assume the three are demented and tormented plus the poet. x
