I must admit I'm not one for quoting others as a way of proving or reinforcing a point.

When I read the title I thought you were referring to my old mate Sid Sleet. He's a great bloke is Sid though he can be a bit wet and on occasions will give you the cold shoulder. But we don't hold it against him and his mood soon blows itself out.

Must admit to being a bit mystified. 'Professional' sounds like individuals are going to be paid, but surely £10,000 won't go far?
Anyway, I'm happy to cough up a few quid now and again for something that has been a great benefit to me over the past three years.

This is a really well thought out piece Ian, with some brilliant language sprinkled through it. The Christmas Carol analogy is right on the money.
Sadly places like Amazon wouldn't exist if we didn't use them. I live near the glitzy Milton Keynes Shopping Centre and I have to admit (even though I am not the most avid shopper) I only use about 4 or 5 of the array of shops within it. I mean just how many shoes, greetings cards, mobile phones, does anyone need.

Paul I looked for the image of the lorry this morning and couldn't find it, this a picture of the lorry carrying the vaccines, as shown on the news this morning, it reminded me of the coke advert. This is the lorry bringing Christmas "cheer" to some this year!!

Funny, but actually I have many other poems and only one of them is better than this one.. ? The rest of them are swept under the carpet.

As expected, Greg.

Your poem is the light of love, benevolence and warmth hovering over all of us. Can't find the right adjectives to describe the beauty and depth of the poem. Well done! Very well done! Looking forward to Pt. 2

Possible if reincarnation is real. Everyone produces energy often referred to as the soul which begs the question does the energy die when the body does or does the energy transfer to the nearest new embodiment?

This is heartbreaking sad
It makes my heart bleed
Tears of dejection and loneliness to feel
May you find comfort in all you see
May your soul find ease after ease
May the conversations with moon change to real life experiences
May the one you love and who loves you be with you soon
Oh dear soul! Dont shed the tears of hurt and pain
All sorrows are nothing but gain
If we use them wisely to develop ourselves
Every negativity of life changes our life positively
If it's a poem I marvel the emotion stirring capacity it holds
And if it's a true emotion expressed
Then never forget God is always with you
And in wol you are never alone.
Smile costs nothing
It heals the onlooker mum
But it heals faster the soul
That produces smiles one after one
Keep smiling J.?

I've stumbled onto your profile page and what a fortunate stumble it was since I've really enjoyed reading all your samples and will certainly be exploring more of your writing. You seem to have a gift for using exquisite descriptors without making it seem obscure or heavy. It makes the poetry sparkle but the bulk of it is that the poetry is meaningful and purposeful too. Count me as one happy reader.

Thanks Brian. You're welcome. Funny how a line can just come to you .A quite recent event.
Very kind, Candice.
Graham, yes we are so reliant on our other halves and dread separation. Thanks for reading.
Greg, my first public reading was at my father in law's funeral. I must admit to a sort of guilt at offering my poems to others since ; the feedback is always good for the soul though.
Thank you Paul. I try to edit and strip poems down now, and find that can be a good discipline.
Stephen, i'm glad you found it so. I like to find that point where readers can react in that way.
For the likes thanks Trevor, Branwell, Julie, Stephen, Aisha and J.D.

Fair enough Brian. But if you don't let it out, it festers, it even ferments. I have every sympathy with your elder brother. The UK, and more specifically the bloody BBC, is in the control of half-wits.

Thanks for this. I was feeling very angry today. At all the things I've lost and people. I wanted a wine. Only I didn't even have a drop. Why am I so emotional I ask. I saw A homeless guy in a tent today x on my daily walk. And there's so many stray animals and hungry children. Everything makes me cry and I've been swearing down the phone at a call centre today trying to rip me off.
But I'm blessed in so many ways, so thanks for reminding me.. X

John you'll be blowing a gasket if you don't calm down and let things just flow over you.
Having said that you pale into insignificance beside my elder brother who spends the first 20 minutes when we meet ranting about anything and everything. On the positive side he's stopped worrying himself silly about the water situation in Spain.
John I prescribe a large glass of dandylion and burdock and a bar of Cadburys Fruit and Nut whilst watching The Wrong Mans on BBC i player. Let me know how you get on.
