To get by in politics requires two faces - pious and pie-filled.
And in politics, actions are often lewder than words! ?

So many great Beach Boys songs ... Wouldn't It Be Nice is still my favourite, even though it appears now on so many commercials. The joy and innocence of it. Have you written many poems about Fleetwood, too?

John...your problem is that you have narrowed your field of potential candidates to just one gender type. Try appealing to the other 56.

You're welcome. I have tried to send this poem to Brian himself on twitter, hoping that he might like it. I wanted to celebrate the beach boys being the soundtrack to my childhood, growing up in Fleetwood by the sea, but we never had surfing etc. I am in process of writing poetry based on famous albums or bands - a lot of rock, but also other genres, as part of a new collection based on nostalgia. Not a fan of this new world order we now live in.

Thanks to Keith, Emeka and Brian for their comments and to everyone for the likes.
Keith, thanks for the story from more innocent days. I remember working on something similar with friends as a boy, but I don't think we got as far as trying it. Emeka, you are right and we should all follow our dreams. Brian, I'll pass on the advice - it might just make the difference!

Obliged for the comment, Brian. Now that M&S have linked up with
Ocado, I'm thinking of extending my current range beyond Amazon,
not least for what it could offer at Christmas. Yummy!
Thanks also to those clicking on "like".
You were all responsible for me noticing a typo in the lines which
I've now corrected to avoid "word duplication" in rhyme.

Hi Crystal,
I really like the poems and sorry about the delay in getting back to you. Been off-line with tech probs for some time. I agree with Rick though, this is for poetry and chat about poetry etc. So easy to be seen as a troll, hacker or call girl with a request for friendship in this mad world.

Stephen,
this poem conjures up all sorts of chaotic images in my mind. My brother and I, when young, tried to convert his bicycle into a winged kite in the hope that we could take to the air as we sped down a grassy slope. We ended up in a huge muddy puddle. Since then I have stayed with reputable airlines.
An enjoyable poem and thank you for this.
