Clearly, a heartfelt personal tribute that will resonate with anyone
who has faced the same in life.
Silent prayer or voices raised
All will share when the loved are praised.
Whether dry or tear-filled eye,
All are raised to say goodbye
And bid the soul away on high.

Don -
You may be living down under
But you rarely raise a frown;
And it's a source of welcome wonder
That you're under but seldom down! ?

Ah...a timely voice for the English. We are a patient breed but
do not take kindly to being deceived or talked down to by those
given power over us. It is probably right to presume that the overwhelming vote to leave the EU (Brexit) came from the shires
of England, with added support from sympathetic factions elsewhere
in the UK. The metropolitan zones are comprised of many different
sorts without the same origins and obdurate resistance to being
taken for a ride to a disguised destination in the hands of others. Once, I wrote to
Kenneth Clarke MP - well known EU advocate, reminding him of the words of
Gilbert Keith Chesterton: "We are the English people and we haven't spoken yet...".
And that was many years before the
recent referendum.

I enjoyed my schooldays - for the surroundings and the friendships
made more than the quality of the teachers, which, in retrospect,
left much to be desired in many ways; not least managing the one
to one connection with a range of inquisitive but often unanswered
questions. I progressed in the experience gained in later life which
helped towards balancing the disappointment of comparative scholastic failure. I often wonder why adults - even into old age -
place so much value on exams and passes in childhood and puberty!
Late developers have their place, and contributions to make - but
the system often seems stuck in the realm of the very young - a
place of parrot-fashion learning without understanding..which takes me back to my lack of success in obtaining solutions to my
frequently put question at school: "why?"...

It is indeed strange, Po and MC, that we should each be content with the way things have panned out, MC as a Leaver and me as a Remainer. I suspect it’s mostly to do with the Deal, which seems likely to result in either No Deal or 2nd Vote (and likely Remain).

I feel your pain ?
Can I say ' I myself have an over active thought process that can effectively corrupt my ability to see things clearly to which I can Become isolated....
I found grounding yourself works a charm.. When our thoughts (negative) start coming in stages of twenty at a time, replacing them with a positive can be tricky..
But programing your thoughts to become aware of the present moment work so much more then blocking them with ' drink or drugs..
When your active thoughts start to make an appearance tell yourself what you are doing in that moment, left hand on phone' bum on chair. Feet on ground , right hand scratching body parts (haha) you get my drift... Before you know it your mind has become focused on the here and now and no longer dwelling on past traumas... Be consistent with this and you will feel empowered to be able to control the process with out any additional help..
What you feed your mind has a major impact on how we feel..
Create many I am affirmations that best suit you. Your subconscious will swallow these words which will then program your brain to repeat and before you know it.. BOOM.. Different emotions take over..
Example...
I am strong minded
I am talented
I am happy
I am in control of myself
I am amazing
I am funny
I am smart
I am confident

Don, I don't know what I've started, but I have been preparing my defence for the impending tribunal.
The story goes like this:
It was a hot day
we were in the garden
she was taking my clothes off the washing line
we then went over to the flower bed
a troublesome fast-growing weed had to be dug out !

I don't really get writer's block so much as writer's fatigue.
I can sit here all day writing things, but it's when I try to stick to a topic, I eventually get mentally fatigued and have to walk away or risk it coming out unlike something I'd write. I can still come up with words, but the words will rhyme less, make less sense, etc.
Good poem and structure.?

All is clear Stu thanks. The last two lines are paramount to the mindset. In the UK there is similar facility, can't tell you more but cameras have shown it on telly. I loved the fact that Harley use it as a test centre. Bollocks to that - give me the old leaky exhaust sound of a triumph anyday.
Good that you have redeemed the site albeit briefly.

I've heard the names Sal, but have to admit I was mostly too busy propping up bar counters in the '60s to watch much TV.
Lisa; it's 12.30am and it's been nice knowing you. I say this because I will probably be chucked off the site for the following:
She said as she ripped off his clothes
"I'm impressed at the speed which it grows"
"That's nothing," he said
As they both hit the bed
"Check out how far up it goes."

HI Jennifer, I have come down to earth to comment on this one. It is splendid in painting a picture of degradation which sadly is often inherent in over inflation of the ego and its fall from grace. In a way fame is just a flame that fizzles then goes out - unless of course you die early.
