Bravo Hugh! Great poem!??
"But learn how to confidently clear up the mess" is a very true statement because Stress in itself does not kill. What kills is the way one reacts to the stress thereby keeping themselves in a constant state of anxiety and so, your statement in it's poetic form is absolutely correct!
If you have no objection, I would like to be able to give this poem to my clients that I treat for Stress Management. It should be on their refrigerators to read EVERY DAY!
Thank you! Jane

What?
You're just a lowly poet rhyming in the wilderness
Sing and shout all you like, I rule supreme now
Yes Oh King Money (sitting on your gilded throne)
You will detect this is more than just a piece of poetry but my cry of frustration at what I see happening and my utter helplessness to do anything about it ?

I'm reading this on my phone on the morning commute, and I had to stop my music (I was listening to Eminem thanks to the influence of certain people on this site! ?) so that I could read it properly and feel the hip-hop rhythms.
I've just discovered your profile, welcome to WOL and I look forward to reading more of your work.

It's somewhat of a tangent, but don't we all drink to re-introduce the blathering crying teenager to the public...
..never could one of these make your job any easier.

Reminds me of the Elks Lodge for my brother's wedding. Looong night that one.
I like the 2 stanza format you are keen on using (from what I've seen on this and a couple others), you have a way of structuring them that always makes them equally powerful, a sort of ebbing and flowing of ideas back and forth between them.
What's your favorite type of poem to write Ray?

Sometimes I don't say anything for fear of wearing out my welcome with too many 'excellents' or 'great pieces' said, but you truly raise the bar with the poetry you write.
It's always a treat to read.

Thank you kindly. I tend to see things in the following ways:
There's a time for levity,
May the laughter be long;
And a time for brevity
If living goes wrong.

Thanks Big Sal for once again favouring my efforts. I just wanted to highlight the ludicrous insensitivity of the gratuitous reality show format and so unreal it can be.
You've got it Jon thanks.
I think you point out a collaboration of sorts in the coincidence you mention Taylor, a scandal really. The same careful plotting and preparation happens for royal visits of course and all seems well(which people expect of course). Thanks.
David, you continually surprise me in a nice way. A touch of Milligan in that story of the warship. Yes, the message here is fairly clear, Dortmund is a sober reminder too!
Graham, I do pity those who would rise so quickly from obscurity with no qualifications to do so - but I can't say I'm not a little bitter about it, seeing as I spent a life in show business so called. Thanks for the observation!
Nice one Martin. I questioned that phrase and how it would be received, so I'm glad it struck a chord. I don't think it's been used anywhere up til now! Cheers.
Isn't it a strange confusing world Hannah - i'm not saying this would happen, but it makes us think. Be always aware, I say!
Des, Anya and Becky, thank you all for the support.
