Always interesting and John was very generous with access to his own life in the reflections and direction offered. Thank you John and WOL.

No easy life for Eliot, frozen in isolation, it seems to me, too difficult for him to establish the easy, lazy contacts of human relations, but how the poetry soars.

I was touched to hear Heaney's report of Eliot's acceptance of his first work at Faber - it was like an affirmation from God, God the Father. & he rejected Animal Farm? I wonder what he wrote on the rejection slip, I get the impression he dealt gently with his poets, but Orwell was hardly that.

coincidentally dipping into Eliot's Four Quartets last night I did have to go back here and there with a - how did he do that? And the irrepressible Bard of Barnsley comperes the TS Eliot Prizes? Gee. Maybe I should give him another look.

Thank you all so much, really glad you liked it. I'm in a real writing mode at the moment so rattling a lot of stuff off, and I never really know if anyone will like it apart from me, and even then, most of the time it's just a relief to get the thing of my chest.?

John, you touched a nerve here with me...with many I suspect. I envy those like my wife and my mother who fall asleep within a minute or two of going to bed. I have many thoughts swirling around that take me quite a long time to overcome.

In the attic of your mind
in dark corners find
a hidden spot,
but be careful with
what is recalled
there's things up there
just as soon forgot!

Do they shine in you
Like I want them to...

Ha - I hadn't heard of this enterprise but I'm taken back to that old saying: "you don't have to be mad - but it helps". Perhaps Boris and
co. are ready to consider looking outside the political tent to get as
many talents and points of view on board in their interest towards
the widest spread of government - Bojo style!
Love the inclusion of the Little Richard video. He was a favourite
in my 1950s teen years & I still have a 45rpm Speciality label
disc of his recordings. Another favourite in similar vein was Larry
Williams who had a big hit with "Bony Moronie". This disc (played loud) succeeded in getting a neighbour to bang on my wall - first
and only time it ever happened to me! ? AND I still have the
45rpm disc of that recording to return me to those happy carefree days (but played via headphones nowadays ha-ha!).
"I've got a gal named bony Moronie
She's as skinny as a stick of macaroni..." (and so on).
Whoo-hoo!!!!
The lyric writing may not be Lorenz Hart or Cole Porter but it made me happy - then and now.

The start of a new relationship is always such an exciting time. So many possibilities and so much to discover and learn. When things could still go anywhere it's hard not to let your imagination run wild. It's an intoxicating feeling. Nicely expressed!

Good heavens, Mika is right. We're getting some rather hot stuff on WOL at present

I'm going to let my friends Bert and Ethel give their opinion on this Jasmine but I take no responsibility. They have a right to their opinion, as do we all.

Oh.....and they look forward to meeting you up close in LMS where they can speak more freely , if you get my drift......

Eth?.......

Yes luv........

We used to make steam under the blankets. Jasmine just reminded me........Now we're struggling to reach room temperature.......Wot's happened?

You fall asleep before we say goodnight luv........

zzzzzzzzzz

Look at this Jasmine. He's hopeless......asleep on his lounger already and it's only 10am. Maybe I should get some viagra at Tesco?

Suggestions Mika?......

Don you might have read your version of it somewhere, but I specifically recall having seen the expression phrased as: A Picture Saves a thousand words. In other words, both of us could be right if there are 2 contexts. But thanx. Will check out the phrase elsewhere and if different to what I have just said will return to the arena. P.

The past is lived and done, it can neither be changed no undone.
Those who delve in the past, they do sink into a bottomless ocean, no pearls to find, no great marine life visions.
Past is but a chapter closed and so shall it be left unattended or disturbed.
