When I was a kid, I used to watch 'The Golden Girls' with my mom. She never liked cartoons or anything I enjoyed, so we would sit and watch that for kicks. As I grew older, I grew more accustomed to shows like 'The Sopranos' and still find so much to love - even if it isn't a soap opera.
I used to have a friend that was into the telenovelas, and would watch those with his mom. Sometimes shows like these keep a little bit of sanity in a crazy world, but more importantly give us a chance to spend time with our parents while there's still time to.?
Have a good one Taylor, enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Thanks Pyrola for your liking of 'Strange Fruit'. I really like 'Flames': "It’s the burning I desire". But most of all I love and admire the musicality of your verse. Such a strong sense of metre and rhythm: a dance of words.

LOL
I have some folks around me that love to complain and moan. I believe you have to talk about everything but if you don't have a solution spend time finding one not just flapping your lips. Drives me nuts.

There is skill involved in spinning out these story lines like interweaving threads enacted by acting ability to keep the viewer watching - that much can't be denied. But I feel they
are primarily aimed at the female viewer; a view endorsed
by the reactions of a sister and a niece who love them - and
who have control of the remote!

Has anyone done a 'man bites dog' storyline yet? Like Rose, I avoid 'soaps' like the plague. I did start watching a new programme some years ago, but when it started turning soapy, I stopped watching. And yet, they're so popular. Go figure! Your scenario is played out in a multitude of living rooms on a daily basis. I wonder if they could do a soap about watching and keeping abreast of all the soaps?

Hi Taylor, it's amazing how long soaps like Corrie and Eastenders have been going and how popular they are.
I have a preference for nature and historical prog's but like anything it all boils down to choice.
Nevertheless I enjoyed the poem.
cheers chuck!

Sequel
You know how you enjoyed
Blowing bubbles as a kid?
Be a kid again my friend
Don't keep enjoyment hid
Just because you're grown up
Don't mean you can't enjoy
Blowing bubbles like a kid
With your bubble toy ?

The scripwriters surely must be running out of storylines soon mustn't they?
We only watch Corrie now...and that's looking more and more past its shelf life.

I really enjoyed this tale. It shows how people fall out over the silliest of things. I don't like the way my wife squeezes the toothpaste from the top, then doesn't put the lid on properly, but we don't fall out over it (much).
I liked the rhyming too ?

Thanks Brian.
This poem can be interpreted from multiple perspectives. I tried to keep it that way, so that a reader can relate it to them in their own ways.
The title says, Disguised!! Its meant to be veiled! ?
Just kidding!?
