Has the addressee a right of reply? Lovely poem. Part of a dialogue, I think.

I love your use of forest fire to describe love. Sometimes it's good for the forest to burn to the ground cleaning out all so a new healthy forest can grow.

This piece is not only perfect from beginning to end but it also invites one to really think about the complexities of the Ant Kingdom! Really different and intriguing, Loved it!?

Found this in a folder - thought somebody might get a chuckle. I did read it at a Poetry evening in Manchester Library. The 'master of ceremonies' introduced me as someone so 'sweet' he was quite enchanted. And I just stood there with the poem in my hand and thought: 'Oh, well -another good impression down the drain. So what's new!'

This is an exceptional poem which is somewhat evocative of the war of attrition witnessed during the Great War. Well done and thank you.

Another beautiful poem. These are amazing Peter, you have some serious talent. Have you been published yet? Because these poems are bloody brilliant. If you haven't and you wish to, I don't think you'll have much trouble finding a small publisher. I believe there's a link/resource on WOL for such publishers. I would give Indigo Dreams a try first though. And good luck ?

People who know Brian quite little
Do write things about him quite civil
But I've known him for quite some time now
And know what he writes can be drivel ?

This is gorgeous, Peter. As Adam says, it feels like an old ballad.
I'm guessing this is a 'form' poem? I'm crap with form, so if it is, educate me ?
It puts me in mind of The Wild Mountain Thyme, which is an incredibly special song for me.
Love it. It flows so well and evokes so many images, and is like a feather itself, on the mind.

"Love and longing in the broadest metaphysical sense"
allows the poet an incalculable range.
English/American ghazals often relax the stricter interpretaions of form.

Some may feel defeated but everyone needs to hear these things - 'a phoenix rebirth'.
