Effectively less blasphemous (if you believe in such a thing) better targeted.
An antidote to some of the squirming religiosity and bilge often seen

It is said that you could kick a dinosaur up the arse and comfortably stroll away from it before its brain reacted to the signal from said arse. Much the same as with Nigel Farage.

Thank you for an interesting and well constructed poem which depicts lack of appreciation about the social impact on ordinary people in our long history and as to say the cycle repeats itself.

Absolutely fantastic writing! Can't believe that it got so little appreciation. A beautifully orchestrated theme and very profound thinking, also very moving.Your stuff never disappoints.

Agree about leaving technology which was unthinkable not so many years ago, but we have paid a high price for this. If we manage to reduce carbon emissions effectively, hopefully we will leave them our technological advances without the consequences.
Interesting.

Yes Stehen, the 'Ulster Fry' is basically a Full English plus fried pancakes, fried potato bread, fried soda bread and white pudding to go with the black pudding. Not to be taken lightly. Has sometimes been called cholesterol on a plate. And I understand Mike Gatting has been known to drop catches, but never pies!
Leon, I think it's more like eat it quickly to use up the calories.
Keith, I try to limit my visits to the greasy spoon to weekends. Honest!
MCN I'm jealous of your physiology. I only have to glance at fried food to gain weight!
Thanks for the comments guys.

Good point, Joe. Percentages can be misused, or not, as the case may be.

I remember a report of former England cricket captain Mike Gatting taking on an 'Ulster Breakfast', which put a full English (calorifically) to shame. Apparently, he survived, which is more than could be said for the breakfast.
Nice one, Trevor.

Thanks for all the views, John and M.C. This generation will, I think, leave a legacy of incredible technological progress but also one of excessive consumption which has led to a global heating crisis. It can redeem itself by taking steps to sort this out and not dump its consequences on the grandchildren.
John, the dinosaurs certainly mastered longevity but did they do jealousy or revenge? Or Instagram? Does it matter?

It has been said that we stand on the shoulders of giants.
What size shoulders will we provide for future generations
in this fear-fueled age? Are we the era of caution before
courage and conviction? ?

Hi Brian - thanks for the added valid query. Creating a scenario
of "concern" is part of the political process that enables their
endless interference in our lives.

It's been a while since I enjoyed a "full English" breakfast but
I can smell it in these words! Diet and its needs can play a
part in abstinence, although in my own case, my physiology
from youth is categorised as "ectomorph" (tall and spare) and
I can feel sympathy for those pre-disposed towards gaining
weight when it comes to enjoying food! Metabolism can be a
hard taskmaster! ?

Trevor,
A humorous poem indeed, but I take your advice seriously as I struggle to lose weight. The contents of your breakfast are in strict keeping with my diet but you miss out black pudding, bacon and fried bread. Greens! Ha, I have a lovely green table cloth.
Thanks for this. It is now time for tea and sticky buns

We take a very superior view of those stupid dinosaurs without realizing that they were around for 165,000,000 years whilst we have just been here for 200,000.

It should also be noted that the MSM eagerness to publicise the
social media abuse that caused so much disgust did not indicate
the origins with any accuracy - bearing in mind that the platforms
provided are world-wide. It is very likely that the UK participants
formed a small number and that this has been reflected -and rejected - in the reaction of redemptive revulsion. Onwards and
upwards!

Hi Sanja
I've been looking through your blog entries. I like your approach to poetry. It's hard to say exactly why but I wouldn't have continued with it if I didn't appreciate it, and I certainly wouldn't be writing this.
I think I like your words being so sparse, and of course the subject matter, and then leaving it as something that hardly quite happened but feelings are aroused and thoughts are fuelled.
I look forward to reading more.
