Hi Val
I enjoyed going along for the ride. If I had any hair left, I'd be having to have straightened out now.
But is it all really about the leather?

Ann, thank you for your lovely comment. I know that my translations need some improvement (I am working on it) and I will probably do some audio, as you suggested, to share with the Write Out Loud community.
Love your work too!

Intrigued by the title of this, which I read as a pun, rather than a particular reference to Loftus Road, home of QPR FC. But I could be wrong. And then there's your identity logo ... I'm not a great queuer myself, I will admit.

Thanks for your comment. How lovely that you can say that! I know what you mean but it's still good to find others feeling that way too - liking a poem even without knowing what the heck it's all about! But anyway, here goes:
it's meant to be about kids in care and their experience - being let down by neglectful parents, having, as typically they do, special needs in spite of often being very bright, and the reactions of the media in too often condeming them - forgetting that they are children basically, but that they live outside of what we hope is a normal experience, that of a loving, caring family and friends. I wrote this while I was in Malta last week. Since I've got back and had the chance to "research the porn" a little I have discovered that the Editor's name was, in fact, Fiona Richmond and not Millicent.
BUT YOU BLOKES ALL KNEW THAT DIDN'T YOU???!!!
Yours sincerely

I enjoyed this, especially the first verse and "this lost boy without a map carving wishes into the whispers in the wind". I never consider myself a good critic, yet I would say there are several other lines I think are good, although I worry if in whole it may be over long. I also like the repetition of I can't be this.

Really good, Anne. "my toe within your heel" is fab.
wash up two cups
and two crumbed plates.
would sound more natural to me.The next verse is a cracker but like Winston I wasn't so keen on those longer lines at the end.

Hi Lynn
The fact that someone enjoys what I've written means the world, so thank you very much.
I'm trying to write the follow-up to Out of the Mouths, but I can't figure out if I'm going OTT. I probably am, but what the heck
Thanks for taking the time.

Those first three lines are corkers!
Lovely sad/sweet `Fled the nest` poem.
Without the title and lines 13 and 14 it would make a very moving poem of a different kind.

I guess that age can take away the presumption
of good health and the inferred superiority of youth. Freedom can come with being able to say and do what you want after a lifetime of
being held captive saying and doing what was
expected. It's termed "eccentric" and no worse
for that. I prefer "curmudgeon". :-)
