Thanks for the "chuckle of my day", Branwell I used to note the
ridiculous eyebrows and nasal hair of old men and wonder why they
never realised how yukky they looked Didn't they have a mirror
and a pair of scissors at home? Consequently, I remember and
keep tidy - to feel better myself and not to offend others who have
to look at me. .

The two chairs were empty,
But out there,there are plenty,
More for him or her to find,
Hopefully someone loving and kind.
Sadly Cilla is no longer there,
She would have found someone for each chair.

An emotive subject to be sure. To some degree or other we are all
at the mercy of our origins but there has never been a time in all
history when the chances of breaking out have been so widely
available, with global media fuelling the situation and travel a
seemingly integral part of life for many, using whatever means or
opportunity they can muster.
The Bible poses the question: Am I my brother's keeper? In short,
how far does anyone go to affect the life of another wherever and
whenever that question arises? It also contains a quote attributed
to Christ himself: The poor are always with us. That much cannot
be denied although it is also relative to place and circumstance in
today's world and freedom is found where it never previously
existed - something to encourage at every opportunity in the hope
of improving the quality of life across the globe..

Reliable and as topical as ever.
"Parliamentary sovereignty" featured in the deliberations of the legal
minds of the Supreme Court yet never did they think to explain
how it can exist when the same is signed over to other powers
- and, how it can be used in this context. What is parliamentary
sovereignty without a nation's own jurisdiction over its borders, seas, trade and laws?
Answers on the back of a postage stamp would probably suffice ?
Roll on the next election. Meanwhile - on with the motley!

Many times in the western world money is wasted on a trivial throwaway society. If these genius' whose only fault has happened to be where they were born, had even a fraction of that wealth they would put it to a greater use.
Good poem Keith, more needs to be said on this topic.

Well said but the problem is deep rooted.Actually poverty is a worldwide curse.Capitalism is fuelling these social curses.Poverty looms large even in this decade. Its our inability or callousness that is refraining us from removing poverty, hunger. And the tragedy is that these dictators are being given a platform to carry on their oppression, plunder from time immemorial.

I really enjoyed this Adam, light in all it's forms described so beautifully. Loved the descriptive elements and the more intuitive nod to illumination. The luminescence of sea algae storing and releasing light, just as we seek illumination and share it with others. Gotta love layers, layers are good. Love the poem, skillfully written.

On Saturday before the accident was going to collect my bike and cycle 8 miles back along the canal after posting the letter.I call it" canycling,"do it regularly accompanied by my black Paterdale. Bike will have to wait to be picked up for a while until I mend, chained up with two chains in Burnley.

thanks for reading "There Comes A Time".
a passing thought that passed.
Beware the one
who holds the scythe
he comes creeping in
in dark of night
Death may be certain
but of a different stripe
the worst of fears is
an angry wife!

Desmond, Avishek, Julia, Ian, Don and Trevor. Thank you for your comments on this poem as they are much appreciated. The poem was something of a departure from my usual work but there are times when one is driven to strike out at the scociety we live in. I am now entertaining the idea of writing more such poems, which although cathartic, also express what I feel needs to be heard.
Thank you all again

I’ve always subscribed to the view that Nature knows best; it does things for a reason. But as Billy Connolly remarked, what possible threat to your nose and ears has it anticipated that it grows the protection of a forest of hair? My own theory is that Nature is saying “You’ve had your time as a virile and rampant male so now it’s time to make you unattractive to the opposite sex So the younger ones can have a chance”. Luckily my Remington keeps a hot babe magnet.

'Bout this problem you've got
I got me a theory
(Now hair on my bot)
Anything up
Eventually falls down
So hair on your head
Gravity pulls down
Make sense?
Eventually Bran
You'll lose all, the lot
'Twill end up on floor
All hair that you got
Simple physics Bran......?
