Well you certainly have made something beautiful from these words.
Very nicely constructed and eloquent as usual
Nice one Rachel

Couldn't agree more! I write my stuff by hand, as I prefer it, but then have to put it on the computer as it is unreadable!
I like a real pen not a biro for the occasional letter or card too.

This is very sad. I really couldn't bear not to be able to read especially - I think I can remember (I was 4) when my Mum taught me to read, and I suddenly realised I could read whole sentences - not just C A T. A moment of intense joy. Black Beauty was the book - can anyone else remember that?

Unfortunately how true. Now I am ancient I wish that I could talk to the former generation and find out so many things about an earlier past.

Nice! I have a large black spider in my garage which makes cones, in corners. We have come to an agreement to leave each other alone, and it works.

A poignant connection with the ever-present feeling in youth that we
are somehow immortal, able in the prospect of a wealth of years to
ignore the passing of time and how ephemeral its content can be.

A wry, irreverent, humorous look at a black country relationship - not typical but not unusual either.

Willows are my favorite of all trees. One fell on the corner of my house once and the insurance company gave me a check for $10k. I've loved willows even more since that day! Willows are a great reminder to bend with the wind to ride out the storm. Thanks for sharing! ?
