These lines make it easy to imagine hours spent daydreaming in a deckchair, with the soundtrack of
happy voices and the breaking waves in the background.
Pleasant to find an engaging upbeat poem.

Outstanding for me Martin. So much detail and keeps building all the time , a character study that seems to disappear into the black hole of a sad life. Compelling!

Thank you Martin for your comment on Library. I think we all spend time sorting words we will never feel are quite the right ones. But the option of just leaving them is too sad.

Roses are red, red white and pink

If it has to be champagne on a blue velvet gown

I will take a Pol Roger and show you the town.

Roses are yellow or so some will say they come over

from Texas to lead us astray. Why do you drink coffee

when you know I take tea, OK let me listen to more poetry

Dear Tom I am 63 years old and I have never fired a gun.

Although my granddad was a soldier killed in WW2.

Other members of my family have served in more recent conflicts and my dad did his national service and met my mum at Catterick Barracks.

I have had my share of suffering and grief but I have found that trying to write a few words every day is giving me a little relief

Keep up the good work yours Davdcxx

Another analogy I can relate to the ticking of the clock have you noticed how the BBC breaks down seconds into
hundredths some times with 30 seconds to start the global news. How much would 30 seconds cost advertising on Google Inc, How much does 30 seconds cost on Scottish ITV.

A slap up meal at a local Brasserie.

I like the thought of storm chasers tearing up the road heading North, I would prefer to be heading North North East or even west if we were heading for the coast.

I knew Fingals Cave as soon as I saw it coming up on Windows 10.

Paul McArtney country with Wings flying higher than an Albatross, I am sure I saw a Golden Eagle rising on a wooden cross.

With a GPS attached to its wing they said they would not harm it with a chip and pin you only have to have a wrist band and St Peter lets you in.

Who will exchange my 50p for a plastic five pound note

put it in a bucket haul it up with a wire rope

While they switch positions on the Euro the government

sends out mixed messages and want to rewrite history

God bless her Majesty and the soldiers of the king

Stick in your pipe and smoke it and think of Gunga Din

The problem of humanity - its wish to impose its decisions
and choices on others...politics through to war and back
again, seems to be some sort of merciless cycle we find
impossible to avoid down the centuries. Are we puppets
of some pre-ordained plan or test? It's enough to make
a soul wonder!
