We do the dishes
for the Missus
who cooks our meals
which are delicious,
if we do well
we reap the kisses
and now you know
just what dish bliss is!

Yes, most of the things you write are important but unusual. I would never dare to venture in that zone. Can't imagine writing a poem on such issues. I liked your poem on fishes eating plastics in seas and oceans. Most of your works are unusually excellent.

You bring the current issues in a subtle way. Arousing curiosity and concern at the same time. This issue has several issues to talk in itself. I hope the right people get the right feel out of it.
Great write!!

is it the bulb or him
that's losing his brightness
either way it's a no win!

There is something about an old chair that can transmit the previous owner's persona to the current incumbent. Enjoy that chair!

Good work Keith. Simple, direct and down to earth. There is much impact in presenting truth in this way. People would see this scenario as depressing today, but it was common practice, and provided only the basics of comfort. Where did we go so wrong (or right) according to taste. The last lines are highly relevant.

Hello Don - say Hi to Thalia for me - there was a frog who lived in a bog - Hey Ho - said Rowley - the frog got as big as a house through eating toast with too much butter on it. Had to go to the froggie vet (before the betting shop) but the vet just said 'Hop it'. Strangely enough there was a horse running that day with the name of Hoppity so froggie backed it and went forth and multiplied. Rivet, Rivet. Don't tread on any frogs - you'll need to get the shoe brush out. P. ?

MAGGIE HARRIS & OPEN MIC AT SEPTEMBER WRITE ANGLE
Maggie had three turns at the mic. Her poetry was wide ranging, from nostalgic memories of her childhood; to the airplane shot down over the Ukraine; to an ode to her muse, Leonard Cohen. Her thoughtful, evocative and lyrical poetry performed in such a beautiful voice was much appreciated.
As compère, Jezz created an impressive cabaret of performances, bringing poets back to the open mic several times.
Bruce Parry provided masterly descriptions, whether of nature with 'Southern Summer' or 'August Rush'; or of people in his 'Mr and Mrs Ever So Nice'. On his melodious hammer dulcimer, there was strong feelings of nostalgia with 'Those were the Days'.
Colin Eveleigh imbues his poems with meaning, whether telling of a bird that flies into his window in 'Thump' or of a leaf on a web in 'Caught in Camera or his monologue, 'Not Yet'.
Denys Wheatley, makes scientific information interesting with 'Kepler 87B' and the workings of solar winds then told of a a lake district hotel, The Old Dungeon Gill Hotel.
Poet Harry Haines used to claim that his poems came to him like leaves falling from a tree. It was hard to believe that. Yet the way in which Fred Werner writes seems to fit that description as he writes about the experiences in his life. He performed his web poem, 'Butterfly Snared by the Web', a mother in the park 'Blowing Bubbles' or more personal, relaising his daughter was pregnant, with 'Love's Produce. Life's Ticket Reservation'.
Richard Hawtree described a garden in 'Waterperry', or was it about love. And as autumn closes in on us, he produced his rousing out of season, 'April Leaps,
Jezz has a voice that makes all the songs he sang full of emotion, whether it was David Bowie's 'Kooks', inspired by the birth of his son – will you stay in our lover's story – followed by 'Melody' and then 'Magnolia'. It's not just his voice but the plaintive sound of his guitar that pulled the audience into his music.
The raffle was for a meal for two at La Piazzetta and second prize of a bottle of wine provided by The Queens Head at Sheet. As always it was a worthwhile evening.

My favourite idiom, Brian, has passed into political incorrectness but you would find it in The Adventures of Barry Mackenzie. To repeat it here would undoubtedly invite deletion.

I ask this question (so far not addressed by any media I know).
WHO funds the travels, promotion and appearances of 16 year old
Greta Thunberg? In short, WHO is pulling her strings?
As for the subject of climate change in a general sense, there is no
doubt that the climate fluctuates over the years...as history can tell
us. In my lifetime, I've seen the "gospel" being preached in ever-
changing ways - from the dangers of "abandoned fridges" (CFCs)
to man-made smoke and gases. Very little is reported about the
enormous effect of the activities noted on the sun that directly
affect the weather patterns creating violent storms over oceans,
or the volcanic emissions that pump out their products in quantities
that dwarf human output. Remember the panic stories about the
"ozone hole" over the Antarctic and how it was growing to signify
the dangerous effects caused by (very distant!) humanity. Now
little is reported of the news that it's shrinking (fluctuating?) in
size but that doesn't fit in with the "scare" scenario that is being
pushed out these days.
Back to my question, but in a more general sense - WHO is pulling the strings?
